2024 Candidate Forums

all on YouTube

The Chamber hosted three candidate forums last week. You can watch each forum via the City or Chamber YouTube channels.

THIS MONDAY, 10/7

The Chambers of Commerce in Congressional District 2 are hosting a debate between the two candidates. It will be moderated by Jon Althoff, President of the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and myself. You will be able to watch it live using the link included on the graphic below. It will also be recorded for future viewing. Click image to access link. No Facebook account is required. We may have a couple tickets still available for the live audience. If you are interested, email me for details.

ICYMI – Great content!

If you were not able to join the in-person session this week with Gerry Hoeffner, I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch his videos. Gerry has great facts and stats about why we are seeing workforce challenges and gives us some hard truths about how we need to change what we are doing if we want to attract the top talent of the current and incoming generations.

FYI

Recruit college talent and receive grants to cover half of their pay.

The SciTech Internship Program is a FREE small business resource here to make hiring interns easier and more affordable.

Create a company profile and gain access to a candidate pool of pre-vetted college STEM talent, all of which are eager for hands-on opportunities at innovative companies.

  • They recruit on your behalf, pre-vetting students and coaching them on how to apply.
  • You make the hiring decision.
  •  Every hire reported reserves a grant that will reimburse you for 50% of what you pay your intern (up to $2,500 back per student hired).
  •  Eligible industries include IT/cybersecurity/AI, engineering, life sciences, medical devices, manufacturing, construction/civil engineering, renewable energies and more.
