COUNCIL UPDATE

March Council highlights:

  • Per the extensive research done by Max Epling, the Finance committee suggested and Council approved signing up for Southern Mutual Insurance Company for GSLC insurance. Our previous insurance was through Church Mutual, who announced they were no longer going to cover GSLC.
  • The Council discussed and is prayerfully considering names for members for the new Call Committee. After a period of discernment, discussion will be had as to the members to approach for this role.
  • $3,000 in Thrivent Funds was approved by Council to be used for proposed for external property improvements.

Accolades:

  • Youth & Family Committee review of their part of the constitution
  • All those who worked on the reconceptualization of our worship bulletins
  • All those who contributed to the youth fund
  • Musicians & lectors for the mid-week Lenten services
  • "Worship Matters” leaders for their preparation and session facilitation
  • Max Epling for his thorough investigation of new insurance options for GSLC
  • Karl Westerville for his extensive knowledge and countless hours spent on the new Building Manual which contains information and on procedures on emergencies and normal operations, building systems, maintenance calendars, and contacts. This will assist in keeping our property safe and well maintained.
