Amazing Grace – Lent 2023

In honor of the 250th anniversary of the writing of “Amazing Grace,” this worship series for Lent, by theologian Michael Hoy, ties the words of the beloved song to our lives today as Christ’s disciples. Those in the Bible who experienced the amazing grace of God help us each week to realize that though we once were lost in sin, we now have been found by Jesus, and though we once were blind to God’s mercy, we now can see his love at work in us, through our Savior’s death and resurrection.

We will be offering services each Wednesday beginning on Wednesday, February 22nd at 11 AM and 7:30 PM, with soup and salad offered before each evening service beginning at 6:30 PM.

Ash Wednesday, February 22nd. There will be 3 opportunities offered. In the morning, Pastor Rosy will administer ashes and prayer in a drive-thru style, from 7 AM-8:30 AM, in the lower parking lot. At 11 AM and 7:30 PM there will be worship service with communion. Our Ash Wednesday theme is David, based on Psalm 51:1. Soup and Salad supper begins at 6:30 PM.

We find comfort that King David confessed his sins to God and received amazing grace in God’s forgiveness and a connection to Jesus, the Savior.

CARING FOR CREATION

Have You Ever Wondered What Exactly Happens to Your Returns?

According to a 2018 report, returns account for five billion pounds of waste sent to landfills and 15 million metric tons of carbon emissions every year in the United States. Read our latest Caring for Creation article here.

We continue to collect used eyeglasses. A box is located in Fellowship Hall. These will be donated to the Lion's Club.

We also continue to collect oral care waste for recycling. These items are mailed to TerraCycle where they are made into plastic pellets which can be made into outdoor furniture of playground equipment.

We also continue to collect used batteries to take to the appropriate recycling facility. This keeps the toxic materials out of landfills.
