SYNOD ASSEMBLY

Keep the Southeastern Synod in your prayers this weekend as they gather together in Columbus, GA for Synod Assembly. Pastor Karen, Sharron Ryan and Gina Crittenden will be attending on behalf of Good Shepherd. We pray for safe travel and spirit led guidance for all attending.

VBS TRAINING

This Saturday, 10 AM in Fellowship Hall! This is for all those who have signed up to help with VBS this year. A second June 15th date at 10 AM is also available if you are unable to attend this Saturday. At the meeting, Mel will give a rundown of the schedule, expectations for different positions and a chance for questions. We will also be tie-dying our leader shirts. Need more information? Members of Good Shepherd received a "Special Sheep Buzz" on Thursday, May 30th, with the approved budget for 2024-25, biographies of the Call and Nominating Committees and a final report from the Long Range Planning Task Force. Please note, there will be one worship service on June 2, at 10 AM and the semi-annual congregational meeting will follow that service. A limited amount of these documents will be available at the meeting. Following the meeting, we will gather together for a picnic celebration, hosted by the Fellowship Committee.

Highlights from May 14th Council meeting:

• Members for the Nominating Committee were discussed. Individuals will be asked and the committee's members will be voted on at the Semi-annual meeting on June 2.
• The three youth who will be confirmed on May 19th were approved by Council. A celebration for these confirmands and all those graduating and Youth Sunday will be celebrated at Coffee with Council on May 19th.
• Funds to upgrade the Sanctuary sound system from a dedicated account of Thrivent funds were approved.

• Sunday School teachers
• Confirmation mentors Carlie Epstein, Sharron Ryan and Janice Swinford
• All those who participated in the outside workday, including members and Girl Scout troops

Metal Recycling

Caring for Creation is now recycling scrap metals. Help preserve our Planet.

Drop off your scrap metals in the white 55-gallon drum located at the north side of the garage and we will take it to the Metal Recycler in Woodstock.

ADDITIONAL HELP IN THE OFFICE IS NEEDED

During VBS week and a few weeks during the summer, while Mel, our Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator is out of her Office Coordinator role, we would like some additional help in the office answering the phones and the door. If you would like to volunteer to serve in this capacity, please sign up using the button below. No experience is necessary.

2. HEFTY ORANGE ENERGY BAGS: (first Sunday of the month-Please remove labels (see below)

3. BATTERIES: (Size D and smaller)

6. PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE BOTTLES

We need to remove labels from these bottles try these methods:

1. Warm the label in the sun
2. Use a hairdryer for heat
3. Put bottle in a glass of very hot water

BRING IN YOUR LADIES CLOTHING

Caring for Creation continues to support the Drake House, collecting SEASONAL, clean and like new donations. Look for the big orange drop-off bin in Fellowship Hall.

Handmade Card ministry at GSLC

ALL OCCASION cards are available for a suggested donation of $2.00 per card. All proceeds will support our Good Shepherd Youth Mission Trips. This ministry is being hosted by Molly Maher, Linda Rowell and Pam Hough.

Father’s Day: We will have a limited number of Father’s Day cards available this month and into June. Do you have a father, husband, son, son-in-law, or grandson that you would like to honor on Father’s Day with a card? Get your card(s) while they are available!

This is our submission form for you to submit non-urgent prayer concerns. Prayers will be posted to the Prayer Circle, via e-mail, during normal business hours, usually around 3 PM. As always, if you have an urgent prayer request, please contact Pastor by cell or email. 

If you would like to pray for others, as part of our prayer circle, please contact our Office Coordinator and she can add you to the Prayer Circle group.
