From the desk of Pastor Karen...

Greetings,

First, thank you for the warm welcome that I’ve received during my first days at Good Shepherd. I’m truly excited to be with you and look forward to sharing ministry together.

Let me assure you that during this interim time, our ministry will continue moving full speed ahead. This is not a time to step back, but we encourage everyone to faithfully engage in the work of the congregation. God has good things ahead!

As is true in all transitions, there are questions continue reading...

Beware of Scams - from the GSLC Technology Committee

Consider yourself tech savy? Did you know this?

Need a phone number for a company? Just search on your web browser for customer service, right? WRONG!

The best way to find help is to go to the source. Want to inquire about something with your bank? Don't do a search, go to the actual website of your bank. i.e. Truist.com, WellsFargo.com, etc. Scammers are getting more savy and creating listings that lead to websites that look like the real deal and thus opening the window to steal your information. Stay in control and know where your going.

Ladies Night Out

CARING FOR CREATION

This week's bountiful harvest donated to Forever Fed for the food insecure in our own community. Thanks be to God!

Pollinator Garden: We are excited and thankful to share the news that our Pollinator Garden is now a CERTIFIED POLLINATOR GARDEN with Woodstock Parks and Recreation. It continues to attract pollinators for our Garden of Grace. Stop by to see it in person.

CARING FOR CREATION

Next meeting: Wednesday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m. on Teams. To help care for God’s glorious creation contact church office or Reba Sumner. All are welcome!

NEW RECYCLING INITIATIVE: Do you have prescription medicine bottles that you would like put to good use? We are now collecting these to send to Matthew 25 Ministries where they are used to dispense prescription medicines to patients in third world countries where they are much needed. Please place these in the designated box in the Fellowship Hall. Bottles must be clean and all labels removed. Thank you for your help.

Do you have leftover paint in your garage that you don't know what to do with? We have investigated responsible ways to recycle leftover paint. The Cherokee County Recycling Center on Blaylock Road will accept cans of paint for recycling. Their fee is $5.00 for a one gallon bucket and $10.00 for a five gallon bucket.

GARDEN OF GRACE: Our garden continues to produce vegetables for the food insecure in our own communty. We are now harvesting okra as well as tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers. If you have vegetables from your own garden that you would like to donate, please leave in the Fellowship Hall and we will add them to our harvest. Our garden pickers work hard picking vegetables at least twice per week. Thanks be to God!

On a sad note, we have seen some vandalism in our garden (vegetables picked and smashed, etc.). We believe this may be done by teens who may have nothing else to do. We ask for your prayers. When you are at Good Shepherd, please drive by the Garden. We are checking into the feasibility of lights focused on the garden.
