Due to the cancellation of our Sunday morning services, we have prepared an online worship service for you to view at your leisure beginning Sunday morning at 7 AM. This will be a shortened service from our normal Sunday services.


A special sheep buzz annoucement will be sent prior to the service Sunday Morning with links for the service. Please remember to sign our attendance book using the link provided.


You can also watch the service directly on our YouTube Channel. and our Facebook Page. (please note video will not be avaiable until 7 AM, Sunday morning).

In addition, due to the weather uncertainty on Sunday.

  • Pastor Ana Lugo will reschedule her time with us on the topic of Legacy Giving.
  • The Ministry Fair has been rescheduled for 9:45 AM on January 26th.
  • Second Sunday Family Fun Afternoon outing to Monster Golf will be rescheduled for another time.

GSLC COUNCIL and CALL COMMITTEE NEWS

We have unanimously recommended to the Council, and the Council has unanimously voted and agreed that Pastor Karen Boda be voted on by the congregation as the primary candidate for the permanent position of Pastor.


Next Sunday, January 19th, we will have one worship service at 10 AM with a Special Congregational Meeting following that service to vote to call Candidate Pastor Karen. 



Please keep Pastor Karen, the church council and the call committee in your prayers as we continue thru this process.

As many of you are aware, Pastor Karen and her husband will be traveling for the next few weeks beginning Sunday afternoon and returning for worship services, on February 2nd. Please direct any pastoral care necessities through our Media Coordinator, Donna Garges at Media@gslutheran.org. She will direct any information to the appropriate people.

This Ministry Fair is brought to you by our Stewardship Committee. This is an opportunity to see all the wonderful groups and committees that make Good Shepherd Thrive. Spirtual Gift forms for 2025 are available on our website to preview before the fair.


Please make special note of some of the new opportunities. Evangelism, Card Ministry, Caregiver Support Group, Sound Board Operator (10:45 service). We are also in higher need of worship servants for Assisting Minster, Acolyte, Crucifer and AV Ministry Operator roles.

Weekly Bible Studies

Thursday Bible Study: We will resume Feb. 6th.

Theology On Tap: Game Day, in Woodstock, January 22nd 6:30 PM.  Join us for casual conversation over a meal and various topics in a non-biased format.

Yarn Angels next meeting will be on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the home of Jennifer Taylor. Light refreshments will be provided.

CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP

Our first Caregivers Support Group in connection with the Alzheimer's Association is scheduled for Thrusday, January 23rd at 1 PM. Anyone in the community who is supporting and/or caring for a love one experiencing dementia or other long term debilitating issues are invited to attend and become a part of this group.

We continue our recycling initiatives. We appreciate all help from congregation members to keep these items out of landfills.

We need to remove labels from these bottles try these methods:

  1. Warm the label in the sun
  2. Use a hairdryer for heat
  3. Put bottle in a glass of very hot water


HANDMADE CARD MINISTRY


ALL OCCASION cards are available for a suggested donation of $2.00 per card. All proceeds will support our Good Shepherd Youth Mission Trips. This ministry is being hosted by Molly Maher, Linda Rowell and Pam Hough. Thank you for your wonderful support of this GSLC ministry.

PRAYER MINISTRY

This is our submission form for you to submit non-urgent prayer concerns. Prayers will be posted to the Prayer Circle, via e-mail, during normal business hours, usually around 3 PM. As always, if you have an urgent prayer request, please contact Pastor by cell or email. 


If you would like to pray for others, as part of our prayer circle, please contact our Media Coordinator and she can add you to the Prayer Circle group.
