Birthday Bash is Back!
February 12, after the 10:45 AM service.
The Fellowship Committee is bringing back one of our favorite events...the Birthday Bash. It's a fun way to celebrate everyone's birthday at one time. We will have lunch after the Praise service. There are 12 tables, one for each month of the year. Those attending sit at the table that has the month of your birthday. We serve pizza, salad and drinks and there is a cake for each table. This has proved to be so much fun in the past as members got to know other members. We are looking forward to bringing this back this year and hope you will sign up. There is a sign-up genius for people that want to make one of the cakes and a sign-up genius for members to let us know how many are attending. A sign-up is also available in Fellowship Hall. Please be sure to sign up so we have enough food.

Bring Your Loose Change to the Birthday Bash
“I remember when on the Sunday closest to your birthday, you would put a penny per year in the Sunday School bank as the congregation sang “Happy Birthday”. The older member would often put in a dollar bill because they did not want discussion of their age." It is a fond memory that was shared at a recent Fellowship Committee Meeting and the committee decided that it would be a fun thing to do at the Birthday Bash. The money will offset delinquent lunch accounts at Clark Creek Elementary School. So sign up to come or bake a cake and bring that loose change to help those in need.

CARE FOR CREATION
Soles 4 Souls (S4S) has been collecting new and gently worn shoes for years, and our GSLC youth have spent several mission trips sorting shoes at their facility in Nashville, TN.
Our Caring for Creation Team and youth will be collecting new and gently used shoes for S4S during the month of January. Collection boxes, decorated by our GSLC youth, will be in the Fellowship Hall. A friendly competition of whose box gets the most shoes wins a prize for our youth. Now clean out that closet!
| |
|
We are now collecting used eyeglasses. A box is located in Fellowship Hall. These will be donated to the Lion's Club.
We continue to collect oral care waste for recycling. These items are mailed to TerraCycle where they are made into plastic pellets which can be made into outdoor furniture of playground equipment.
Hefty energy bags for hard to recycle plastics are available in the Fellowship Hall for a nominal charge. These are collected on Two-Can Sunday and taken to the appropriate recycling facility.
We also continue to collect used batteries to take to the appropriate recycling facility. This keeps the toxic materials out of landfills.

Thursday Morning Bible Study
10 AM with Pastor Rosy. “An Unexpected Revival”: Experiencing God’s Goodness through Disappointment and Doubt. An 8 week study of Ezekiel.
Encounter a unique picture of revival through Ezekiel's prophecies in this 8-week Bible study, An Unexpected Revival: Experiencing God's Goodness through Disappointment and Doubt. God chose to spark revival through people who seemed counted out, cast aside, and disregarded. However, God pursues us with His goodness desiring to bring revival to our broken hearts.
