The Nation's Data at Risk

Nonprofit organizations rely on accurate data for planning and funding, and it's extremely concerning that our nation's federal statistical system is "facing a period of unprecedented strain, uncertainty, and transformation." In response, The Data Rescue Project was established as a clearinghouse for data rescue efforts for public U.S. data that are currently at risk. To mitigate, nonprofits should try to verify data by checking provenance and by comparing findings against reputable, independent sources.

One tool to help a board improve in all areas of their fiduciary responsibility is assessment.
