In this recent NonProfit Times article, Barbara Floersh says that "when pursued strategically and woven logically into a nonprofitโ€™s overall funding framework, grants can play a vital role that moves missions forward and increases organizational capacity.โ€ Funders typically look to invest in projects and programs rather than operations, so focusing on how grants can help achieve strategic goals is key. As such, start-up and capacity-building projects are often great candidates for grant funding.
