Every summer, the Seaport Ferry in South Norwalk carries hundreds of hungry passengers to the historic 1868 Sheffield Island Lighthouse for the Norwalk Seaport Association's famous Tuesday Night Clambakes. A true New England dining experience, the evening allows participants to dine in the Timber Frame pavilion on the Lighthouse lawn, with tours of the Lighthouse included in the cost.
You’ll enjoy an authentic New England clambake dinner in the open-air Timber Frame pavilion on the lighthouse lawn, with tours of the historic 1868 lighthouse included.
The evening starts with a scenic round-trip boat ride from Norwalk Harbor, offering panoramic views of Long Island Sound.
Dinner is provided by Chef Clyde Ripka of Ripka’s Beach Café, with entrée choices including lobster, steak, chicken, salmon, pork, or vegetarian options. Please note: beverages are not included, so you’ll need to bring your own drinks (wine, beer, soft drinks, etc.) and any cups or openers you might need. Coolers and carry-ons must fit beneath your seat per Coast Guard regulations.
This event is extremely popular and always sells out quickly—there are only 48 seats available, strictly enforced by the Coast Guard. Reservations are not held for any particular group, so it’s first-come, first-served.
Allan Siegert took this trip last year (not as part of Y’s Men, though several Y’s Men were on board) and he can personally vouch for the excellent food and the fun, relaxed atmosphere. It’s a fantastic way to experience the best of our local coastline and maritime history.

Round-trip cruise and dinner have two price settings:
$109 or $119 per person, depending on entrée.
The catered dinner on the Island is provided by Chef Clyde Ripka of Ripka's Beach Café. The venue address is 70 Water Street, Norwalk, and parking is available.
