Golf Tournament a Success
WHOA! This year's golf tournament  was amazing! Thank you to the golfers and their dogs who came to Trophy Lake Golf Course on Friday, May 20 for the Fore! the Animals Golf Tournament. This year's tournament raised over $19,000! Thank you to the golfers and sponsors for supporting Kitsap Humane Society!
Donations needed for KHS' Littlest Ones!

Spring is here, and that means hundreds of kittens and dozens of puppies are arriving at KHS. There are currently over 200 animals in KHS foster homes, over 75% of which are kittens. With so many hungry (and adorable) faces to feed, our supplies are running low. Donations of the following items are desperately needed: Kitten Milk Replacement formula (powdered not liquid), canned cat food (pate style, no chunks with gravy), canned dog food (pate style, no chunks with gravy). Items can be left in the donation bin in front of the shelter entrance, or ordered from our Amazon Wishlist and shipped directly to KHS. Thank you!!!

Pints for Pets at the National Public House!

Join Kitsap Humane Society at The National (757 National Ave Bremerton, WA) for beer, BBQ and door prizes for our next Pints for Pets event on June 7 from 5:00-8:00 P.M.

There will be burgers and hot dogs for sale, all proceeds from the BBQ will be donated to KHS. The National will also be donating 75 cents of every beer pour to KHS, so bring your friends to drink beer, help animals and feel good!

Remember, this is an event to benefit homeless animals and KHS' life saving programs. Please leave your pets at home. There will be adoptable dogs for you to meet ( and maybe fall in love with and take home) at the event!

Thank you to the owners and staff at the National for hosting Pints for Pets and helping us save more lives!!

Smiles for Kitsap

Help KHS win a $1,500 donation! Kitsap Kid's Dentistry is donating $1,500 to the animal welfare group who has the most votes by June 24. Votes must be cast from a computer/desktop, not a mobile device/phone. We would put the prize winnings towards supporting our busy life saving work this summer, like our adoption, foster and rescue programs! Vote for KHS TODAY!

Make a Gift in Honor of Someone Special to You Show Your
Appreciation With a Tribute Gift

Over the years, you build relationships that stand the test of time. There comes a point when you decide to honor a relationship in a way that not only recognizes the person, but also makes a lasting impact on an organization close to your heart.

You can do both.

A tribute gift to KHS is the perfect way to show your appreciation for an individual that is meaningful in your life. This type of gift can also be used to recognize a special achievement (graduation, birthday, wedding, anniversary, etc) or to honor and memorialize a loved one who has passed away. Don't forget about fathers day!

Adorable Adoptable
Oso

Hello, my name is Oso (Intake #54220) and I’m a happy, playful Shepherd mix looking for an active family to call my own. I’m a super-fluffy sweetie who has the personality of a puppy! I was primarily an outdoor dog in my previous home, but I would love to be an indoor/outdoor dog and a part of the family. I would prefer a home with no cats and one with older children. I’m an inquisitive, goofy boy who needs an owner with time to help me perfect my manners. I’m a big clown and would be a  perfect match for someone with a great sense of humor. You can meet me and other adoptable animals at Kitsap Humane Society, open six days a week.

Volunteer Spotlight
Dr. David Sanders, KHS Board President

Kitsap Humane Society (KHS) recently elected Dr. David Sanders as the organization’s President of the Board of Directors. Sanders is the Executive Vice President at Casey Family Programs in Seattle, responsible for its public policy work. He first joined KHS' Board of Directors in January 2014 and has served on the organization's Governance Committee, Finance and Audit Committee and was the Board Secretary in 2015. He brings extensive senior level administrative experience in local government and in balancing complex budgets.

“I'm extremely excited about the opportunity to support this community as chair of the Kitsap Humane Society Board,” Sanders said. "KHS provides the critical function of assuring that every adoptable animal in this community has a home and the organization excels at that mission.”

Sanders and his wife are avid animal lovers and own two cats and two dogs.

"My goal as chair is to continue the outstanding performance of the past few years including setting adoption records and achieving and maintaining a high saved lives rate, ” he said.
