The Douglas County Board of Health, City of Douglasville and Douglas County Board of Commissioners have issued Shelter in Place Orders for all residents of Douglas County to stay inside their residences, and immediately limit all movement outside of their homes beyond what is absolutely essential to limit the spread of COVID-19. It will be in place until April 10 and is subject to extension. 

Businesses were classified as Essential or Non-Essential. Please see the full listing of to determine if you need the information below for Essential or Non-Essential businesses.

INFORMATION FOR ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES
What this means:
All Essential Businesses are strongly encouraged to remain open. To the greatest extent feasible, Essential Businesses shall comply with Social Distancing Requirements.

Action to take:

Social Distancing Requirements:
  • Maintaining at least a six-foot distance from other individuals
  • Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds as frequently as possible
  • Using hand sanitizer
  • Covering coughs or sneezes (into a tissue and immediately discarding, or when a tissue is not available into one’s sleeve or elbow)
  • Regularly cleaning high-contact surfaces
  • Not shaking hands. 
INFORMATION FOR NON-ESSENTIAL BUSINESSES
If your business does not fit the compliance with the Essential Business List here , you are considered Non-Essential.

What this means:
  • It is strongly encouraged to continue operations consisting exclusively of employees or contractors performing activities at their own residences (i.e., working from home If working remotely is an option).
  • If working remotely is not an option:
  • Businesses are required to have hours of operation beginning no earlier than 6:00 a.m. and no later than 9:00 p.m.
  • All businesses are expected to enforce the Social Distancing Requirements; including any customers that are standing line.
  • No more than 10 employees in a workplace at a time with 6 feet separating them from one another.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act or the “CARES Act” is a $2 trillion stimulus bill which provides economic relief to individuals, families, small businesses and other sectors of the United States economy that took a hard hit due to
the pandemic.
