Dear Sheridan Families,
I want to begin by saying how grateful we are for the in-person time we have had with your children and for all your support through the past few months as we navigated very different waters. We will miss seeing each and everyone of our Sheridan Sharks walk through our doors each day while we are away, but we know this is the right thing to do right now to keep everyone safe as a community.
As we begin our adaptive pause, I wanted to send out reminders for remote learning. As always, our students do their very best when we have a strong partnership between home and school and we are all on the same page.
Please note that students will follow their same remote times and will have google meets in their calendar app to meet with their classroom teacher during their normal "in-person" times. They know what to do!
Responsible Usage Agreement:
The Responsible Usage Agreement (linked below) was shared with students prior to taking the devices home.
District 67 accounts include a message monitoring and filtering system called “Securly" which alerts school administrators when it detects potential threats or signs of danger.
Google Meet Expectations:
We will continue to leverage Google Meet for synchronous learning experiences. We have taught students Google Meet school-wide expectations and you can review those with students so they know what is expected.
- During learning times, have your children work in an open space.
- Once work is completed, have your children turn the device into you for charging. These devices are meant for educational purposes only.
- Review the Responsible Usage Agreement with your child.
- These are all great teachable moments to help students engage appropriately with technology as a tool to enhance learning.
Thank you for your support and partnership. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We will continue to get through all of this by supporting one another!
