Hello New Families!
Just a friendly reminder to please return the Sheridan "Newest Shark" sign we placed in your lawn before the school year started.
They can be dropped off at the front of the school. You can hit the buzzer and leave outside if you wish by the front doors.
Thank you, everyone! If you cannot return your sign, email me and I can pick it up for you. I hope you and your family enjoyed having it in your yard!
Thank you!

From Your Friendly Librarian

From the Nurse
In order to promote a healthy school environment and decrease the transmission of germs and illness, please keep your child home from school for any signs of congestion, runny nose, cough, eye drainage, rash, fever over 100.0 F or for vomiting/diarrhea within the past 24 hours. Even if not COVID, your child can still have a virus or a cold that is best not to transmit, and we are asking that you keep your child home if they have symptoms of a cold or virus -- exercising extreme caution this year -- any cold inhibits the immune system and then will make anyone more susceptible to illness including COVID. A medical evaluation is highly recommended to determine the reason for your child’s symptoms.
Additionally, D67 is following the IDPH guidance for school exclusion during the COVID-19 period. Please complete the self-certification screener thoughtfully and keep your child home from school if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
·      Fever over 100.0 F or chills
·      Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
·      NEW cough
·      NEW onset of moderate to severe headache
·      NEW loss of taste or smell
·      NEW congestion or runny nose
·      Fatigue
·      Muscle or body aches
·      Abdominal pain from unknown cause
·      Sore throat
·      Nausea or vomiting
·      Diarrhea

Please note: Your child may have a known condition that has caused cough, congestion, runny nose or headache in the past. These symptoms are considered NEW the first time your child experiences them during this school year, and you must indicate YES on the screener. Following IDPH guidance, we are recommending that your child have a medical evaluation to diagnose if these COVID-like symptoms are COVID-19 or an alternative diagnosis. If an alternative diagnosis is established for these symptoms, then they are no longer NEW during this episode of illness, and you may indicate NO on the screener.
As in every school year, children must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, have no vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours and experience improvement of symptoms before returning to school. A return-to-school note is required after medical evaluation of COVID-like symptoms.

If someone in your household develops a Covid-19 symptom(s), please keep everyone in your household home from school until a medical evaluation of the sick individual has ruled out Covid-19.
Complete the screener for each student and report the absence(s) to each school.
For Sheridan School, please call the Main Office at 847/234-1160 to report the absence.

Please contact Mrs. Borosh if you have any questions or concerns.
