Sherwood Forest Faire - 8 Weekends of Fun!!

Sherwood Forest Faire

Open Weekends

March 2nd Through April 21st, 2024

Discover Something New!

Weekend 5 is nearly upon us and this season just keeps getting better. As the weeks continue, we invite you to wander into areas you have not yet explored. Take a look into a shop you haven't entered. Stop and watch a show you may have missed. Wander along the paths that you have yet to travel. With over 150 shows and over 170 artisans and merchants, Sherwood is made for discovery.

ASL & Deafblind Weekend

American Sign Language (ASL) and Deafblind Weekend brings members of the American Sign Language professional interpreting community from all over the state to Sherwood Forest Faire. Teams interpret stage shows for a fully immersive experience. Look for Bespoke wooden pins on interpreters and supporters donning blue & buff ribbons. Come join us this weekend!

Easter Sunday

Get ready for magic, music, and merriment at Sherwood Forest Faire this Easter! Easter Sunday will begin with an Easter Egg hunt near the Front Gate directly after opening, followed by a special Easter Sunday Church Service beginning 10:30 am at Maid Marian's Chapel.

As you wander the forest this weekend, keep a close eye out as reports of a Very Large Bunny have been circulating through the village.

Special Note:

And for those who may be wondering- yes we broke the weekend 4 attendance record with over 20,000 smiling faces joining us.

Weekend Weather

Our Weather Witches and Wizards are back on the job. Last weekend had some beautiful weather and this weekend looks even better!

ASL & Deafblind Weekend

During this weekend, teams will be interpreting stage shows for a fully immersive experience. We will endeavor to make the faire as Deafblind and ASL friendly as possible so our patrons will find themselves enchanted and our volunteers enriched. Look for “Bespoke” wooden pins on interpreters, and supporters donning blue & buff ribbons.

We have EXPANDED our event once again! Since we have the security of a dedicated camping space within Sherwood's campground (near the showers!) for our community, we are working with DeafBlind Community of Texas to host a Campsite Social for everyone camping to come set up, hang out, and get to know each other before a weekend of revelry!

We will be catering a hot evening meal (with vegan and gluten free options) available to purchase for $5/person, open to ASL Program volunteers and DeafBlind Community patrons on both Friday and Saturday nights!! No potluck, no huge coolers - Just $5 in your own comfiest camp chair!

Are you as excited as we are?!

As always, if you'd like to get involved and volunteer, please find the link below to learn more and register!

The Bandit Beasts of Barnesdale

Sherwood Players Cast Show

Each faire day at the Faery Forest Stage the furry, friendly Bandit Beasts of Barnesdale hold a Costume Contest to find the best-dressed patrons who walk these woods. Come cheer for your favorite disguises!

Bonus- For Easter Sunday they invite a hoppity special guest!

The Jackdaws

Mar 30 - Apr 21

The Jackdaws are returning to The Lionheart Tavern! More Irish than a drunken row and a darned site messier! Meet the Jackdaws at King Richard's favorite watering hole, right around the corner from the Joust Arena our final four weekends of the Faire.

Over 170 Artisans and Merchants!

Our Faire is thrilled to present over 170 artisans and merchants offering distinctive wares, including mostly handcrafted items. You'll have the opportunity to buy directly from leatherworkers, potters, armorers, glassworkers, woodworkers, jewelers, and more.

Mega Mouse Arts

My name is Megan Staba, or Mega Mouse, and I am a self-taught eighteen-year-old artist from Texas. I have been drawing all my life, sketching characters from books, movies, and animes, as well as my own characters. I work mostly in graphite, prismacolour pencil, and digital mediums, and my style is inspired by Japanese manga and anime.

Lion's Share Square

If you haven't made it to Lion's Share Square you should! The Royal jerk features tasty meat treats such as teriyaki, hot and sweet, ghost pepper, venison, turkey, black garlic and more! They also sell our delicious clean dill pickles. The Wyked Pyckle has our delicious pickled sides in jars so you can take us home! The tapas bar features a delicious variety of meats and cheeses paired with our in-house sides and sauces! We offer vegan, keto friendly, and gluten-free choices as well! Come by and see us!

Where is... Everything?

Feeling a bit overwhelmed with where everything Sherwood is located?

Check out our maps page online to help with finding your way around faire, around the campground or even to find the quickest way to our parking lot!

Drink of the Week!

WEIHENSTEPHANER

Over the centuries much has changed in the world, and the future lives from change. It’s nice to know that in the eventful history of Weihenstephan, with all its developments, achievements and setbacks, one thing has remained constant: our beer. Thus the Weihenstephan Monastery Brewery – after nearly a thousand years – still stands atop Nährberg Hill, proud of its quality and its tradition and conscious of its position as the oldest existing brewery in the world.

Special Events!

Easter Egg Hunt

Moments after the opening cannon sounds our annual Easter Egg hunt for the children of Sherwood will begin just inside the gates. The egg hunt usually lasts about 10 minutes because Sherwood kids are amazing egg hunters. Make sure to arrive early so you can join the fun!

Church Service at Maid Marian's Chapel

Join our village cleric, Monk Michael, and the Sherwood villagers for a 20-minute non-denominational Easter church service beginning 10:30 Sunday morning at Maid Marian's Chapel. All souls are welcome, of any faith and walk of life.

And a Special Guest

Sherwood has long been home to many magical creatures and our larger than life Easter Bunny has been a favorite of many Sherwoodians through the years.

From the Campground

Campground Guard Shack number: 979-575-3497

  • Do NOT line up on the highway prior to noon on Friday.
  • All FoF or Participant tags must be visible.
  • No Ground Fires! All campfires must be in a raised firepit. Due to the excessive number of ground fires the past few years we are tightening the policy for safety reasons. If you have a ground fire in your camp you may be asked to leave immediately for the weekend.
  • If you have a campfire you must also have a fire extinguisher within easy reach of your campfire.
  • Pets must be kept on a leash in the campgrounds. Pets found wandering risk being picked up by animal control. (Reminder- Pets are not allowed in the fairegrounds.)
  • It can be tough to snag your perfect camping spot. Never fear though – if you have trouble finding where you want to go, just come back to the guard shack and ask for someone to help you!
  • Place the correct trash in the correct areas/trash bins (look for the signs).
  • Campground dumpsters are for household trash only. No bulk items (pallets, broken tents, etc). If you need help with a larger item, call the guard shack number above.
  • The Monday after close, the campground will remain open until 2pm for those needing a bit of extra time to pack up.
  • The 2 weekends after faire the campground will open for day trips only for FoF to come and move out.
  • If there will be a burn ban, Ray will post on the Book of Faces as soon as possible. Feel free to ask him as often as you wish. He loves that.
