Another Productive and Fun S.M.A.R.T. Event!

On July 21st, the Shifa for Youth team welcomed 10 families—12 youth and 10 parents—for an engaging workshop on the importance of setting S.M.A.R.T. goals:

Specific. Measurable. Achievable. Relevant. Time-bound.

While two younger children enjoyed supervised activities in a nearby space, parents and youth attended separate sessions, each tailored to their needs and led by different presenters. Pashto interpretation ensured every family could fully participate.

The sessions introduced families to the program, its services, and the incentives available. Parents and youth showed strong interest, asking thoughtful questions and actively engaging in the discussions. Youth participants set inspiring goals—ranging from excelling in school or joining the volleyball team, to pursuing careers as surgeons, doctors, nurses, or business owners.

At the close of the two-hour event, each family received a pizza to take home and a $25 thank you gift card. High school students were also given gift cards for their participation.

We are confident that with the support of each other, parents and their children will carry these lessons forward and turn their S.M.A.R.T. goals into real achievements.

Shifa for Youth looks forward to continuing this workshop throughout the year. If you’d like to bring this workshop to your community event, please contact us at info@mas-ssf.org.
