Change Your Space, Change Your Life
-January 2021-

"What you have in your home creates your story.
I want you to surround yourself with what you love - to be able to express yourself and live in comfort."
- Julie Ann
Greetings!

Did you know that your relationships are actually a mirror of what is going on inside you? The more you love and take care of yourself, you will find your relationships improving, too. This is a similar concept to my tagline, Change Your Space, Change Your Life. Changing your living or working environment for the better can have a positive impact on your life, including your relationships.

Speaking of improving lives and spaces, I just finished working on the latest art installation at Nokomis Square Cooperative 7th Floor Art Gallery alongside the Decorative Enhancement Committee. Due to the pandemic, the project was put on hold for a few months, but now it is ready for residents and guests to enjoy. The theme this year is marine life; check out the photo above for a sneak peek. I will share more about the project in the March newsletter. Now we are on to brainstorming next year’s install which will have a world art icons and places theme.

Adding art to a space is a great way to lift your energy, especially pieces that connect you to your spirit. Check out this blog post to learn more about choosing art with intention to feed your soul.

Let's work together to improve your environment and make 2021 your best year ever! Contact me for a design consultation.

Happy holidays from my home to yours!

Warmest Regards,

Shining Some Light on 2021
"To love beauty is to see light" - Victor Hugo

One way to shed some light on the new year is by looking at how we light our rooms. There are so many beautiful choices when it comes to lighting. And putting the right lighting in your rooms can really improve your space and your life!

Here are 3 main types of lighting for your home or office:

1. General/Ambient Lighting refers to the background levels of light in a space, and may include a combination of artificial and natural light sources. Think of ceiling, recessed, or overhead fixtures.
2. Task Lighting illuminates a particular area to help you accomplish tasks more efficiently. This includes reading lamps, pendants, and desk lamps.
3. Accent Lighting is a subtle way to illuminate something to bring attention to it, such as a great piece of art. It's also a way to liven up a space. Some examples are wall sconces, track lighting, LED strips, and color-changing lights.

One of the brands that I carry here at Metro Interiors is called LightArt. They offer so many unique options for all your lighting needs. Read on to learn more about my favorites:
