Security Update
To the Shir Chadash Community -
Please know that we take the security of our community very seriously. In the wake of the events in Pittsburgh, our Safety Committee has met and is working closely with Jewish Federation and the Anti-Defamation League to formulate a coordinated and cohesive security plan. We have also actively engaged with our local law enforcement to assist in this process. We will keep you abreast of further developments as they arise.
In the interim, you will note that there has been an increased security presence during services and Shul School. In the past, we asked for an assessment from our members for hiring extra security detail, but thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous local donor to our Federation, each area synagogue has been granted $10,000 to be used specifically to help defray the costs of hiring security personnel.
We are tremendously grateful for the support of the wider community during this time, as we work to ensure the security of our shul.

Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel is a stirring story of sports, patriotism and personal growth. The movie charts the underdog journey of Israel's national baseball team competing, for the first time, in the World Baseball Classic in 2017. Jeremy Bleich, a hometown star who is one of the players featured in the film, will be here to introduce the movie and answer questions at the end.
As part of the Cathy and Morris Bart Jewish Cultural Arts Series, this event is free and open to the community.

As the Butterfly Ball preparations were underway,
The Saints changed their kick-off to 3:45, Oy Vey!
If anyone thought this glitch could ruin the night
They don’t know JCDS with all of our might.
Our defensive play is simple, just a slight change in time;
We’ll celebrate together from 7-9.
We pray the Saints will continue to rule.
And on Nov. 18th you’ll support our school!
(Dress code NOW includes Saints attire!)
