Emergency Security Campaign for Masorti Communities  in Europe
Masorti Olami and MERCAZ Olami condemn the recent terror attacks in Brussels that have so far claimed the lives of at least 34 people and seriously injured hundreds more, at the Brussels International Airport and city metro station.
Tzvi Benabraham, President of Chir Hadach, our Masorti Community in Brussels, said:  "Unfortunately, today's events in Brussels are evidence once again that the Megillah Esther is about threats that occur today, "hayom", and not only in ancient times. To the best of our knowledge, no one from our community was directly injured this morning. Chir Hadach community thanks our international Masorti brothers and sisters for your care."

Our Masorti communities across Europe and the Former Soviet Union are currently taking necessary increased security measures and need your support. This Purim 5776, we call upon YOU to protect our modern day 'Shushan' communities who feel threatened by violent extremism every day.

The Purim Megillah warns us of the presence within humankind of a genocidal element, symbolized by Haman, seeking to murder and maim defenseless men, women and children. Just as Mordecai and Esther joined in mourning customs, prayers and in planning an effective response toward this genre of evil, we too join with the people of Brussels in bereavement, in prayer and in the determination to prevail.
In solidarity,
Gillian Caplin, President, Masorti Olami
Rabbi Alan Silverstein, President, MERCAZ Olami
Rabbi Tzvi Graetz, Executive Director, Masorti Olami & MERCAZ Olami

The activities of Masorti Olami and MERCAZ Olami are implemented in partnership
