The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce was honored to celebrate the official Grand Opening of Shoe Sensation, located at 7527 Huntingdon Plaza, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday morning.

We are thrilled to welcome Shoe Sensation to the Huntingdon County business community and are especially grateful for the company's immediate commitment to giving back. During the celebration, Shoe Sensation presented a $1,000 donation to the Huntingdon County United Way to support youth programs throughout the county.



In addition to their generous donation, Shoe Sensation has established an in-store sock collection drive to benefit local residents in need. All donated socks will be distributed through the Huntingdon County United Way, providing another meaningful way for customers to make a difference in our community.

The celebration continues throughout the weekend with special Grand Opening activities, promotions, and events. We encourage everyone to stop by, meet the team, and help welcome this outstanding new business to Huntingdon County.

Pa. Collects Over $3B in First Fiscal Month of 2026-27

Pennsylvania collected $3.4 billion in General Fund revenue in July, marking the first month of the 2026-27 fiscal year with strong tax receipts. As revenue estimates for each month are not yet finalized, July collection data does not include a comparison against anticipated amounts. Revenue Secretary Pat Browne reported that sales tax receipts for July totaled $1.5 billion. Personal income tax revenue for the month was $1.3 billion, and corporation tax revenue was $204.9 million. General Fund revenue figures for July included $221.6 million in inheritance tax and -$11.9 million in realty transfer tax, after accounting for transfers. Other General Fund tax revenue, including cigarette, malt beverage, liquor, and gaming taxes, totaled $79.7 million for the month. Non-tax revenue totaled $40.2 million for the month. Along with General Fund collections, the Motor License Fund received $289.4 million, which includes gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine, and fee revenues.

Celebrate Huntingdon County United Way at Huntingdon County Night at PNG Field!

The Huntingdon County Chamber of Commerce is excited to once again host Huntingdon County Community Night at the Altoona Curve on Saturday, August 15, with first pitch at 6:00 p.m. We invite our members, local businesses, organizations, families, and community supporters to join us for an evening of baseball, community spirit, and giving back.

This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything that makes Huntingdon County such a special place while supporting an incredible cause. This year, we're especially excited that the Huntingdon County United Way will be using Community Night as its Annual Campaign Celebration, recognizing the agencies, volunteers, sponsors, donors, workplace champions, and community partners whose dedication has made another successful year possible.

The purpose of this award is to recognize a business for their excellence in providing quality customer service. This award is sponsored by the Bonney Forge Corp.

Business of the Year 

The purpose of this award is to recognize a business which has contributed to the economic growth of the community and has helped to develop Huntingdon County. This award is sponsored by Valley Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Educator of the Year 

The purpose of this award is to recognize an active educator in the county who has demonstrated "above and beyond" commitment and service in the field of education. This award is sponsored by Juniata College.

Entrepreneurial Success Award 

The purpose of this award is to recognize a community member who has been in business for a minimum of three years, who individually owns and operates a business initially launched as a small business who has shown innovation and aided in the advancement of the community. This award is sponsored by Cassville Country Store and Restaurant.

Volunteer of the Year

This award recognizes a Chamber member for “above and beyond” service to the Chamber. This individual must be a Chamber member or work for a Chamber business and demonstrate support of the mission and goals of the Chamber. Sponsor needed.

ATHENA Award 

This Award is presented to a woman or man who is recognized for professional excellence, community service, and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.
