Dear Britt,

Last Sunday I shared with you that our church is going to be refocusing our commitment to foster care and adoption. We believe that every child matters, and we care deeply about children who don’t have families. At this time we are not launching any new initiatives, but we are starting the conversation by inviting any church members who care about fostering and adoption to raise their hands and join us at an interest meeting. I also want to invite anyone who wants to help foster and adoptive families, even if they are not called to adopt or foster themselves. It takes a village to change a child’s life. I can’t help but think it would be incredible if every child had a home in Spartanburg county by 2026. If you are interested in finding out more about what our church is praying about in foster and adoption ministry, click this link and we will get back to you. We will be holding an interest meeting after the holidays.

This week I am excited to finish out part 1 of our Exodus Series. It has been a joy studying God’s redemptive plan with you. In January we will pick Exodus back up with a series on the 10 Commandments through the lens of Jesus' teaching. In the near term this December, we are pivoting to a Christmas Series called “Do you See what I See.” The Series will conclude in our Christmas Eve service. Cade Thompson will be joining us in the Genesis service and Christmas Eve. It is my hope that Christmas Eve service will be a community-wide event where we invite our friends and neighbors to join us. Many people will choose to attend a Christmas Eve event even if they are not walking with Jesus. I hope this Christmas will be a season of life change as people far from God come home.

I am so blessed to be your pastor!

See you Sunday!

November Prayer Focus

Please be in prayer for this year’s Overflow initiative at The Bridge as they prepare for their fall food drive and distribution, seeking to support families in our community during the holidays by providing an overflow of basic food needs. Pray for volunteers to continue building relationships with our neighbors during Overflow. Ask the Lord to prepare the hearts of our neighbors to be ready to receive and grow in the Lord, either through salvation and/or discipleship. Thank the Lord for providing for needs in our community through FBS at The Bridge.

Drop your packed box off at the Gym entrance during collection week!

TEW Message

During this season of the year, we have so much for which we can be thankful – family, friends, our church, and most of all the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ. We are very grateful to the Lord for the many ways He continues to bless our church and we are grateful to you for your faithful partnership in sharing the Gospel. Thank you for sowing bountifully through your generous giving so that more people can be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As you think about your financial stewardship, here are a few options you can consider:

·         You can Give Online HERE 24/7.

·         Each week you will have an opportunity to place your gift in the offering collection at each service or in one of the drop boxes around the church.

·         If you are unable to attend a service, you can bring your gift to the church during the week or mail your gift to the church.

·         If you would like to give stock, please contact the Business Office at 864-699-4225 for the instructions.

Whether you want to get in shape, stay in shape, or get faster in a particular event and set a personal best, this is the place for you!

We plan to do this with a variety of avenues, primarily through an app called Strava! This is a social media app for recreation activities and we have a group under the name "FBS Running"! Using the Strava app you will be able to like and comment on activities of other people in the group, as well as upload your own workout to the group (which can be done automatically).  Please contact us with any questions that you may have about FBS Running!

TEACH A DEAF CHILD THE LOVE OF GOD!

Do you know American Sign Language? Do you love serving in the Woodlands? We have a deaf student and we need more people to serve on Sunday mornings to interpret at 9:00 a.m. and/or 10:30 a.m.

This is a beautiful opportunity to serve and share the gospel in another language! According to Mosaic there are an estimated 250 million deaf people in the world. Only 2 % are Jesus followers! Who will this little girl grow up to be, and how will she impact the world for Christ?

You can make a difference!

If you are interested in serving once or twice a month, please contact Kay Edwards at kedwards@fbs.org or 864-699-4314.
