On November 10, 2019 at approximately 5:25 PM, the Vallejo Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Fairgrounds Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a subject suffering from a gunshot wound(s). That subject was later pronounced deceased at the scene. The other party involved in the shooting remained on site and was determined to be an off-duty Richmond Police Officer.
The Vallejo Police Department invoked the Solano County Officer Involved Fatal Incident Protocol and is jointly investigating this incident with the Solano County District Attorney's Office.
This investigation is in the very early stages and an update will be provided when further information is obtained.
