One of the ways that we love to see community involvement is through fun, creative fundraisers sponsored by our families!

So you can imagine our delight when we received a message from the Garland family about a Thirty-One Gifts sale that a good family friend, Carrie Hill-Villanueva, is hosting this party in order to benefit the MTM-CNM Family Conference.

Reese's Wish!

We are happy to introduce our wonderfully spunky, precious, 4-year-old son, Reese!  Many of you know Reese through social media, but we are happy to announce that Reese will be able to meet his extended MTM-CNM family at the 2015 Family Conference! Reese's big sister, Rilee, and I had the great pleasure of meeting some of our community at the 2013 Family Conference and we are thrilled that the whole family will be in attendance for 2015!  The time spent at the conference was simply magical!  It is an indescribable feeling to be around families that simply know where we've been and what we've been through. 

 

We will be traveling to Florida courtesy of Make-A-Wish next month and chose to hold a fundraising event to give back to Make-A-Wish and raise awarness in our community.  We were approached by a dear family friend about other fundraising opportunities.  I immediately thought of our conference, and the planning, time, effort and money that goes into this amazing weeken d.  While we as a community are raising funds and awarness for research and clinical trials always, we chose to go another route with this small fundraiser and hopefully help our community come together for an unbelievable weekend of fun and fellowship!  I will personally be replacing our severely beat up suction bag with a beautiful Thirty-One "Fresh Market Thermal!"

My family is fortunate to be friends with this little man, Reese Garland, and his family.   Reese is 4 years old and was born with Myotubular myopathy (MTM).  MTM is an X-linked congenital myopathy, which is among the most severe childhood neuromuscular disorders.  There are no known treatments or disease-modifying therapies for this devastating disorder.

 

With the holiday season fast approaching, I am hosting a Thirty Onecatalog fundraiser party.   The monies raised will go to the MTM-CNM Family Connection, Inc , which brings the MTM-CNM Family community together to share one another's strengths, skills and abilities.  Community service and empowerment, through sharing one another strengths, is very important to their mission. The next convention will be held during the Summer of 2015 in Chicago.
