Vestry Nominees
Cameron Nixon
Nominated Senior Warden by Fr. Eric

Cameron is a cradle Episcopalian who grew up at Saint Paul’s, Augusta. As a child he served as an acolyte, sang in the children’s choir and generally behaved in the pews during Sunday services. He attended the University of Virginia and after 10 years in Arlington, VA and Richmond, VA, he and his family moved back to Augusta in 1998. He resumed his service to the Church by serving as Treasurer for 7 years, followed by his first 3 year stint on the Vestry. He is currently serving the last year of another 3 year Vestry term, that position he filled after the untimely passing of Randy Smith. Cameron chaired the past two Stewardship campaigns, served on the Strategic Planning Committee and currently serves on the Finance Committee and is the chair of the Buildings and Grounds Committee.

Cameron is married to the former Tricia Vaughan (also a cradle Episcopalian from St. John’s, Tappahannock, VA) and they have three children: Martha, Henry and Hill. Cameron has been in banking all his professional career and is currently the Market President for Ameris Bank. He currently serves on the boards of Augusta Tomorrow, Tuttle-Newton Home, Augusta University Foundation, CSRA Business Lending and the local Boy Scouts Council.

“Saint Paul’s is one of the foundations of my life and it continues to be a privilege to help her continue to be a presence for other parishioners and the broader Augusta community. Our liturgy, music and welcoming nature define us and we all have the responsibility to nurture those attributes so our church home can thrive for another 250+ years. While our community has been damaged over the past two years from internal dissent and the external impacts of the pandemic, our resilience is on full display as we begin to repair our frayed connections. I am very excited to work with our new Rector and to focus on increasing lay involvement and leadership to do the work God has given us to do.”
Bryan Hawkins
Nominated for a three-year term on the Vestry

Bryan Hawkins was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Augusta in 1987. He converted from the Southern Baptist faith while attending law school and was confirmed at Saint Paul’s, Albany, Georgia, in 2006. He is the father of two sons (Cooper & Barrett) and has been married to his wife, Michelle, for sixteen years. They reside in Martinez.

Bryan joined Saint Paul’s in 2011 and has served Saint Paul’s previously as an Usher. Bryan also fulfilled one previous three-year-term on the Vestry and served as the Chairman of the Stewardship Committee, which set a new record for amount pledged (2017) and Chairman of the Evangelism Committee, which built our current website. Bryan has also provided legal advice to the former Priest in Charge on employment law matters and to the Building and Grounds Committee in contract law issues.

“I would like to continue to see Saint Paul’s grow in terms of both membership and outreach. A lot has changed since my last term. I want to see our footprint downtown continue to thrive, while also growing to serve the entire C.S.R.A.”
Ian McQueen
Nominated for a three-year term on the Vestry

I am originally from Ruston, LA and moved in 1987 to Augusta, GA.

I attended the University of Georgia and received a B.A. in Finance in 2002.

Currently, I am employed at R W Allen Construction, LLC where I have been for the last ten years.

As a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church, I am proud to call Saint Paul’s my home since 2010.

At Saint Paul’s, I serve on Altar Guild as well as usher.

My daughter, Abby, was baptized at Saint Paul’s and considers Saint Paul’s her second family.

If elected, it would be an honor and a privilege to serve on the Saint Paul’s Vestry to continue the work we have started to expand and grow Saint Paul’s.
Rex Teeslink
Nominated for a three-year term on the Vestry

I was born in South Dakota and grew up in Lebanon, Missouri. My family was members of the Methodist Church. Church was always a major part of our lives and the community. I remained active in the Methodist Church until becoming a member of Saint Paul’s Church in 2000.

I graduated with honors from Tulane University School of Medicine, second in my class. I came to the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) after my residency program in Radiology at the University of Virginia, serving as Chief Resident.

My appointment at MCG was as Section Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. My responsibility was to initiate and develop the vascular program for training Residents and Fellows. In order to accomplish this goal with quality, I became Chief of the Vascular Programs for all hospitals in Augusta and remained in this capacity for thirty years.

I continued being active in my medical profession in various consulting venues. For several years I have been inventing, designing, and developing devices to aid in the treatment of various heart and blood vessel disease procedures. I also serve as medical director for several medical device companies.

I became a member of Saint Paul’s for multiple reasons. I was good friends with several members and enjoyed interacting with them. I was convinced that Saint Paul’s would be a better fit for my religious life and beliefs. Saint Paul’s is a beautiful and historic church where God’s presence is always felt and apparent. I enjoy the liturgy, music, stained glass windows and the warm and welcoming members.

I have been actively involved with the Outreach Committee since I have been a member. I have served as a board member of DCCM since 2000, representing Saint Paul’s. I am a member of the Evangelism Committee, a previous member of the Spirituality Committee, served as Chairman of the Usher Committee for several years and a previous member of the Vestry.

Unfortunately, most churches are experiencing difficult times for various reasons. Saint Paul’s is no exception. I would like to help work through these unusually difficult times. The potential of helping Saint Paul’s set goals and bring them to fruition will be a challenge but can be accomplished. It would be an honor and privilege to again serve as a member of the Vestry.
Nick Uros
Nominated for a one-year term
to fill the unexpired term of Matt Gullette

It has been my honor serving on the Vestry in 2021 and I am ready to continue supporting the church this coming year. Saint Paul’s is an historic treasure; however, it is the wonderful people that make it exceptional.

My wife Pamela, an Augusta native, and I have been members of Saint Paul’s since 2014. Shortly after our first visit, we knew Saint Paul’s was our church home. Since that time, we have been proud active members.

I grew up on a family farm in Fresno, California and moved to Southern California after college to work as an engineer in the Aerospace and Defense Industry. While working, I earned a Master’s in Engineering and an Executive Management degree from UCLA. Over a 46 plus year career, I was able to lead many exciting projects and business transitions. In 2013, I retired as Vice President for Technology and Product Development from the Raytheon Company. After my retirement, I served as a consultant for strategy and project leadership through 2018. During my time in industry and private life, I served on several Board of Directors for companies, non-profit organizations, and academic groups. My career in executive management and service on Boards taught me the importance of ensuring everyone’s voice is heard and everyone is encouraged to participate in setting the direction of an organization. As your representative on the Vestry, I am committed to listening and openly communicating with the congregation.
