STOL Champions!
Precision short landing
What do you get when you add headwind to a short take-off and landing competition with a Zenith STOL? Champions, of course!
Congratulations to pilots Deane Philip and Chris Anderson for taking first and second place at the fifth annual Bush Pilot Championships in New Zealand on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
Precision Landing
Whether the original STOL CH 701 "Sky Jeep" or the newer and roomier STOL CH 750 light sport utility aircraft, Zenith's STOL aircraft designs (in standard tricycle gear configuration with side-by-side seating) are proven contenders in a world traditionally dominated by expensive special-purpose tube'n fabric STOL taildraggers.  Maybe surprisingly, these same STOL designs are also very capable cross-country flying airplanes (albeit at a leisurely pace).   Read about the 2,000 mile flight last month to attend the Sebring Sport Aviation Expo from the Zenith Aircraft factory.
STOL cross-country
While backyard flying appeals to an ever growing number of recreational sport flyers, many pilots instead choose to  operate their planes from their local airport or groomed grass field.  The Zenith CH 750 Cruzer design was developed specifically as an "on-airport" version of the STOL CH 750, with a higher cruise speed for more range.
Cross-country cruisers_
Zenith's sleek  Zenith CH 650 design is the ultimate light-sport cross-country cruiser, with superb 360-degree visibility from a gorgeous bubble canopy.

Steve Smith, who also enjoys flying a STOL CH 701 for back-country exploring, has flown his Zenith CH601XL / CH650 to north to Alaska and across the U.S.

ZENITH WORKSHOPS
If you have yet to attend a Zenith workshop at the kit aircraft manufacturing factory in Mexico, Missouri, plan to attend one in 2017! Here's the schedule for the next few months:
Hands on fun and education_
Zenith Aircraft Company's factory workshops have become popular with sport aviation enthusiasts, giving them the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in building their own Zenith Aircraft kit plane. Participants get to actually start assembling kit parts under the direction and guidance of factory professionals, and "graduate" from the workshop upon completing construction of their own aircraft rudder tail section for one of Zenith Aircraft Company's popular kit aircraft designs, including the Zenith CH 650 cruiser or the high wing Zenith CH 750 series.
Handson aircraft building experience_
The factory workshops make an excellent getaway for you and your spouse or a friend! Spend a couple of days at the Zenith Aircraft factory and meet with fellow aviation enthusiasts - all while gaining valuable hands-on building skills. Demo flights are part of the factory workshop experience in a Zenith factory demo airplane!

Zenith CH 750 Cruzer
If you missed EAA's webinar earlier this week, you have the opportunity to view and listen to the recorded version of the discussion on  how Zenith Aircraft uses  SolidWorks 3D computer-aided design software to design new aircraft, and to develop easy-to-build kits with final hole size match-drilled parts and sub-assemblies.
