Short Term Pain ..... Long Term Gain!

“Short term gain for long term gain” - think that sounds like starting a fitness routine?

Does it sometimes feel like getting fit is a lot of effort? Need to remind yourself that you’re putting in the work now to safeguard your future health, fitness, and happiness?

Let me tell you a very personal story of short term pain - and how it relates to YOUR fitness goals!

Pilates Classes

My popular local Pilates classes restart after half term. There are still a couple of spots up for grabs. Come and join us for the next 7 weeks (or try one before you sign up).

We focus on balance, toning and muscle releases which will really help your shoulders, back, and hips.

Pilates uses a series of gentle, controlled moves to help your body get back to its correct alignment so you can move more freely.

Classes are held every Monday from 1.30 pm – 2.30 pm @ The Warren, Caversham.

Grab your spot now - they will go quickly - or contact me for more information.

Chicken-Topped Pearl Barley

This hearty, healthy salad is a warming dinner or a tasty leftover lunch! Serves two (or a dinner and a lunch for one person).
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 70g pearl barley
  • ½ red onion, finely chopped
  • ½ red chilli, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 lime, rind and juice
  • ½ red pepper, cored, deseeded and finely chopped
  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of sea salt and pepper
Cook pearl barley as per instructions on packet.

Brush each chicken breast with oil. Heat a grill until hot and cook the chicken for 4-6 minutes each side until thoroughly cooked and browned (or do this in a George Foreman grill).

Cut each breast into slices. Stir the remaining oil into the pearl barley. Add the onion, chilli, coriander, lemon rind and juice, red pepper, sea salt and pepper and mix.

Serve pearl barley mix topped with chicken.
