New Arrivals & Deals

Argyle Brut 2013, Willamette Valley, Oregon, $26.99
Not yet rated; previous 3 vintages all 90 or 91pts Wine Advocate

Haut Rian Bordeaux Blanc 2015, France, $15.99

Wagner Dry Riesling 2015, Finger Lakes, New York, $21.99
"My new favorite dry Riesling, I've been blown away by its purity of fruit - lime and golden apple, and its steely mouthfeel. The previous vintage garnered 90 points from Wine Advocate; I believe this will do even better. I wish we had this wine in stock a few months ago when I had a customer give the opinion that New York wines never quite get to the level of exciting; this is exciting stuff!" DM

Knudsen Chardonnay 2014/2015, Willamette Valley, Oregon, $49.99

Adelsheim Pinot Gris 2015, Willamette Valley, Oregon, $21.99
"This definitely qualifies as a benchmark for Willamette Pinot Gris. It has consistently stolen the show on my visits to Oregon, even against many Pinot Noirs at 3 times the price. I should mention that these visits are often in July/August, so that might explain why this thirst-quenching quaffer has been such a star. This vintage has not yet been rated, but the last 5 vintages rated have all been 90 or 91 points in Wine Enthusiast." DM

Lageder Pinot Bianco "Haberle" 2015, Alto Adige, Italy, $31.99
"Consistently chosen as one of the best Pinot Blanc in Italy, the deep apple, peach and pear fruit mingles nicely with a touch of barrel spice and tangy acidity on the finish." DM

Melville Chardonnay 2014, Sta Rita Hills, CA, $35.99
"The 2014 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills) is rich and powerful in the glass, yet also shows good energy and overall translucence, especially for such an ample, broad-shouldered wine. Orange blossom, mint, spice and butter are front and center. With time in the glass, more tropically-leaning notes begin to develop. This, too, is, very nicely done." 92pts V

Jolivet Pouilly Fume 2012, Loire Valley, France, Reg. $29.99, Sale $22.99
"We just took delivery on the last case of this vintage/deal. One needs to be careful when buying Sauvignon Blanc at this age, but we have tasted it multiple times recently and it has continued to be a hit with our customers. What it lacks at this point in crispness, it more than makes up for in its depth and richness. Reach for some Tuna or Swordfish, perhaps with a garlic-basil aioli with this one." DM

Shania 2016, Jumilla, Spain, 3 Liter Box, $23.99

Vignerons de Buzet "Marquis de Bourchet" 2016, Buzet, France, $13.99

Henriques "Minimalist" Cotes du Roussillon 2014, France, $12.99

Domaine Deux Rocs Cabrieres 2012, Languedoc, France, Reg. $19.99, Sale $10.99

Lafage Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes 2014, Roussillon, France, $16.99
"A crazy value, the 2014 IGP Cotes Catalanes Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes is one of the best examples of this variety from the Roussillon, and the fact that it sells for a song is just icing on the cake for the consumer. Coming all from schist soils and 70-year-old vines, raised 12 months in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids, it offers tons of black raspberry and black cherry fruit, licorice and dried spices to go with a super sexy, heady, seamless style on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass. Drink this blockbuster 2016-2019." 92pts WA

Fontanafredda "Briccotondo" Barbera 2014, Piedmont, Italy, Reg. $17.99, Sale $13.99
"This is a perfect introduction to Barbera, with just a touch of the smokey notes the grape is often known for. It is also a touch softer in acidity than typical, making it good with or without food. There is a nice mix of red and black berries here and just a hint of bramble/earth." DM

Knudsen Pinot Noir 2014, Willamette Valley, OR, $58.99
"This is a pure expression of Willamette Pinot from a spectacular vintage and a great grower/producer." DM

Mouton Noir "Horseshoes & Handgrenades", $25.99
"The rich, ripe, voluptuous fruit comes from the Syrah out of the Rogue Valley in southwesten Oregon with just enough Washington Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to
give it complexity and structure. Barrel aged for 10 months." -from the winery
