THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:
Just this week the North Port City Commission voted down the application of a gas station requesting additional pumps, 24-hour operations, and a 7-11 convenience store from being built on the corner of Price and Cranberry, despite a city staff recommendation to approve all but the 24-hour expansion of operations (current code allows for operating hours from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
Begs the question: Should we allow gas stations and other 24-hour operations to locate in neighborhood areas zoned commercial?
