Attendance Update

We know that exhibitors are excited & curious about attendance and appreciate updates. We are as well!

We are a small team running from morning until night at two venues, looking after the needs of attendees, exhibitors, and seminars.

We appreciate your understanding that we prioritize the urgent needs throughout the show, followed by administrative and attendance calculations after (which are complex, due to more than 30 ticket categories, promotions, electronic, box office, multi-day calculations, etc.).

For your information, the Vancouver Boat Shows utilizes a system of counting each ticket once. We ensure that each person with a ticket is counted one time only. This is unlike events that utilize a turn style system, that often counts consumers and exhibitors’ multiple times each day.

Final attendance is determined by counting each paid admission ticket at the box office, e-ticket, exhibitor guest ticket, complimentary ticket, exhibitor badge, marine trade badge and children.

Here is the first update, reporting on the opening day:

Wednesday attendance was 2,444 (this number does not include exhibitor or marine trade badges). This represents a 10% decrease compared to the Wednesday in 2023, where 2,713 consumers attended.

Exhibitor and marine trade badges; counted one time each will be added to the final attendance figure.

Early reports from exhibitors on Wednesday and Thursday indicate positive feedback on the quantity and quality of show attendees. We will continue sharing the attendance report as we reconcile reports nightly.

Media Updates & Segments

It’s day three of the Vancouver International Boat Show where everything boating is not only on display – but also holds the promise of unparalleled savings.

A key staple of this year’s event is the vast assortment of gear and accessories, including electric outboard motors, navigational equipment, kiteboards and surfboards, sails made from bio-based materials, and so much more.

In addition to the significant advance media that occurred prior to opening day, a number of outlets were onsite today including SK Media INC, Sailing Pytiss, and Xinhua News Agency which published an extensive overview of the show. To read this article, click here.

Asian Global Press, one of the most heavily consumed Asian media outlets in BC and across Canada, conducted an interview with Show Manager Amanda Henschell.

As the boat show is unfolding, we have received additional coverage from from Anywhere Vancouver, World News, 24 Hour Indonesia, and Xinhua News.

REMINDERS: Security, Safety &

Customer Service Requests

SECURITY:

Please do NOT leave valuable items unattended in your booth.

Be especially careful with easily portable items such as money, cameras, purses, cellphones, laptops, and other electronic devices.

At close of each show day, it is strongly suggested to lock up portable items or take them with you and cover anything that might tempt a potential thief.

DO NOT PROP OPEN DOORS:

Using unauthorized doors could set off alarms, and "propping doors open" (for a smoke break or quick run to the car, etc.) invites security issues including thefts and vandalism at displays.

USE HANDRAILS:

This weekend, please remember to caution attendees to watch their step and use the handrails when navigating stairs and getting on and off boats and platforms.

CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUESTS:

Help us better serve your customers by bringing any customer service requests to the Show Office, including questions about will call tickets, updated badge or credential lists, at the end of the day when lines are the shortest.

That gives your boat show team sufficient time to ensure that will calls are ready and waiting for your customers when they arrive at the Show the following morning.

Please print legibly, and arrange large numbers of will calls by last name in alphabetical order to avoid processing delays.
