24 Hours of Giving is back! We're keeping track of alumni donations separately this year & challenging you to use your class spirit and see which class can raise the most funds for Lowell students. It looks like class of '49 has taken the lead, with class of '98 in second place & class of '68 following in third.

Summer '24: Career Finds & Inventive Minds

As we say good-bye to summer and hello to Fall, we are proud to share the incredible opportunities you've made possible for students during Summer 2024.

75 students & recent grads to prepare for a future career in a internship,
45 future doctors explore the field of medicine in Harvard MEDscience, and
200 middle & high school students to explore new interests while gaining confidence during IDEA Camp's STEM workshops
10 Early College Ambassadors to work local organizations &
50+ aspiring artists to participate in their first public art installation through ArtUp Lowell.

End of Summer Internship Showcase

After an action-packed six weeks, we celebrated the completion of Commencement 2 Careers, our paid summer internship program where 75 students & recent grads spent 6 weeks working with local companies & organizations.

Students showcased their newly developed career skills at the event to leaders including Middlesex Community College President Phil Sisson, UMass Lowell Chancellor Julie Chen, State Representative Vanna Howard, School Committee Member Connie Martin, Lowell Public Schools Superintendent Liam Skinner and other local leaders.

The highlight? Each intern received a Dell laptop generously donated by AT&T! You can learn more about this amazing event in the Lowell Sun!

HMS MEDscience Pathmaker Program Updates

Between the ages of 18-25, not currently enrolled in a 4-year degree, and interested in entry-level life science careers?

Recruiting today for the HMS MEDscienceLAB Pathmaker program - a new partnership between HMS MEDscience Lab, UMass Lowell, Project LEARN & other leading industry partners - to provide lab and career skills.

Benefit from experienced educators, personalized learning in small groups, and networking to gain entry-level employment.

Work in a life science field and want to help our Pathmaker participants as they are entering the field?

Industry Mentors - To serve as an industry mentor, we ask that you are able to commit to meeting with your mentee for 30 minutes/week for the 8-week program (virtually is fine!) and helping them with resumes, networking, interview prep, and general career advice. Career Panelist - We will be hosting an in-person career panel of our Pathmaker participants on Tuesday, October 1st from 9:30-12:00 at our Project LEARN office at 58 Prescott St. We would love our Lowell alumni to participate! If interested, please fill out the form HERE.

From mentors, advisors, guest speakers, tutors and more, Lowell High Alumni are valuable resources for current students. The Lowell High Alumni Association is a collaboration between Project LEARN and the Lowell Public School district. The mission of the Alumni Association is to help alumni connect with each other, to engage with the school, community and to inspire future generations of Lowell High students through mentoring, advising and tutoring. We invite alumni to connect and find ways to work on new and existing programs within the schools to better the academics and the lives of all Lowell Public School students.
