Showers of Blessings
I do not know what it has been like for you all, but I can tell you that here in south Missouri it has been wet! We have had rain for the last seven days and not just a light shower but pouring down, drenching, all day and night long. My flowers are swimming. In fact, I thought I might have to find tiny life jackets for them to help them survive. However, if you all know me you know that God gives me a message in everything and sometimes in the strangest ways. So that got me to thinking. Aren’t God’s blessings just like the rain showers? They just keep coming and sometimes we don’t think that we can hold anymore but they just keep coming.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is Luke 6:38
“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full----pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. NLT
What I love about it is the phrase that says, “pressed down, shaken together and running over”. Man, that is a lot of blessings. So many that it even falls over into your lap. Ever tried to pack for a vacation and you just cannot get everything in the suitcase? I have even sat on the bag to try to get more into it. Just like God’s blessings. So many that you cannot find a way to hold them all.
Through all the things that are going on right now God is still blessing. People are being healed. People are coming to Christ. People are finding a way to serve others and to be of help to them. Churches are beginning to reopen. So may blessings that we have to press them down, shake them together and running over in our lap!
In the next few weeks, we will be sharing some exciting things that are happening in Women’s Ministries. God has given a wonderful vision for the ministry and we cannot wait to get started on it.
