Happy Mother’s Day to those who show up with love, strength, and compassion every day!

MAY 10, 2026

Beth Jabick joined JFS almost two years ago after hearing about the agency’s supportive culture and strong leadership. Guided by the JFS mission, she says joining the organization was one of the best decisions she’s made.

Beth especially values the people she works with, describing her team and colleagues as passionate, collaborative, and deeply committed to helping others. One stand-out moment for her was the Back‑to‑School event, where a young boy excitedly shared, “This is all for me. I’m excited to start school!” The moment captured the heart of the impact of JFS.

Mental Health Matters: JFS Bennett Center for Behavioral Health was proud to attend Stamford’s annual health fair in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month. Hosted by the Stamford Police Department’s Behavioral Health Unit alongside community partners, including the Recovery Network of Programs, the event brought neighbors together for a day of connection and support. Everyone enjoyed access to local resources, music, giveaways, touch‑a‑truck, family activities, and more, reinforcing the message that mental health matters and help is available.

JFS was proud to stand with community leaders, advocates, and elected officials at Immigration Day at the Connecticut State Capitol, an event honoring the resilience, leadership, and contributions of immigrants across Connecticut.

The celebration highlighted the many ways immigrants strengthen our state—through service, advocacy, culture, and leadership. Honorees represented a wide range of experiences and journeys, each reflecting perseverance and a deep commitment to community.

Immigration Day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of equity, opportunity, and belonging for immigrant communities. We are grateful to all who continue to uplift immigrant voices and work toward a more inclusive and compassionate Connecticut.

We are so grateful to Sadie, a seventh grader from Greenwich Country Day School for an inspiring mitzvah project that brought joy to our community. To mark her 13th birthday, Sadie delivered 13 "birthday bags" for our youth clients, each one filled with items of care and celebration for a child on their special day.

By turning a milestone birthday into an act of giving, Sadie helped make our young clients feel seen and celebrated. We are thankful for her kindness, and for reminding us how powerful small acts of compassion can be!
