The GMAR has received a few questions about showings during this time when coronavirus appears to be spreading.
Government and heath officials are asking that we engage in “social distancing” and not assemble in groups of over 250 people (in some places over 100). NAR has created a Coronavirus: A Guide for REALTORS® with some helpful tips on keeping you and your clients safe and healthy.
Also, one GMAR broker is telling their agents that, as of today, “hosting open houses is at the discretion of the agent and their seller. We encourage agents to communicate with their clients and sales managers to determine the best solutions for their clients.” They are also urging their agents to, “Keep a level head."
Another broker, in addition to following the CDC’s guidelines on preventing contracting or the spread of coronavirus, is wearing latex paining gloves. REALTORS ® open doors, open cabinets, appliances, etc. so wearing gloves isn’t a bad idea. And give a pair to your clients too.
It is very important that you make sure you are getting information from credible sources like the CDC ( ) and Wisconsin State Department of Health Services ( ) instead of social media, and make smart choices at home and at work.
