Driver's License Emergency Contact Data Base
If you are an Illinois resident and have an Illinois driver's license, instruction permit and/or identification card, you are eligible to register your emergency contact information.

The Emergency Contact Database also allows you to enter basic medical information such as disabilities, medical conditions or special needs (i.e., drug allergies or taking certain prescription medication).

You may voluntarily enter one or two individuals to serve as your emergency contacts in the event you are involved in a traffic crash or have a medical emergency where you cannot communicate directly with law enforcement or emergency responders.

Fremont Township Community Garden
Join the Wild ones native plant group on a walk through our community garden to hear what we are doing to build habitat for pollinators and manage our stormwater on site, Saturday, July 14 at 10am.

So much progress is being made this year! We received a $900 grant from the Liberty Prairie Foundation to build a hoop house. Come see the hoop house tomatoes, drip irrigation, learn about our integrated pest management protocols, see our new and improved rain barrel system and our thriving green roof!

On Sunday, July 15 come for a Free Yoga class at 9am, that will be followed by workday 10 am til noon, led by Seeds of Love’s Steph Rehor
Shredding Event At Fremont Township July 21
Shredding event Saturday, July 21 at Fremont Township, 22385 Route 60, Mundelein.

The event will be from 9 am until 11am or until the truck is full.
This free event is sponsored by State Rep Nick Sauer and State Senator DanMcConchie.
Remove all binder clips, booklet binders, or paper clips.
Staples are acceptable.
Up to 2 large banker box size worth of shredding per vehicle (not individual in vehicle). 

All those participating in the event are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the Fremont Township Food Pantry.
Prescription Drug Drop Off July 21
The Round Lake Police Department will be conducting a prescription drug Take Back/ Disposal event at The Grayslake Fire Protection District Station #3 located near the entrance of Saddlebrook Farms at Peterson Road and Route 60 on Saturday, July 21 from 10:00 am til 12:00 pm.
90th Annual Lake County Fair

The 90th annual Lake County Fair returns July 25 through 29 at the Lake County Fairgrounds and Event Center in Grayslake. Check out new attractions including the  Timberworks Lumberjack Show  and family activities presented by the  Illinois National Guard . Returning favorites include truck-and-tractor pulls, demolition derby, 4-H exhibitions, and more. Visit  www.lcfair.com  for more information. 
Mundelein High School Health Fair
Mundelein High School will hold its annual Health Fair Tuesday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the school’s Annex Building.

The event is held solely for those students who are uninsured or have the state Medicaid Insurance as well as those who are Native American Indian and Alaska Natives. This is not only for Mundelein High School students, but for any child 18 years old and under from surrounding area schools.

A local Mundelein company, American Dream Realty, has donated 150 backpacks with school supplies for these students at the health fair. For additional information, please contact Jan Swanston, school nurse, at 847.949.2200, Extension 1395.
Reminder- Early Voting Now At Fremont Township
Fremont Township and the Fremont Township Highway Department were selected to receive this year's County Clerk Good Citizen Award from Carla Wyckoff for opening our doors to serve as a permanent Lake County early voting site. We are happy to offer this convenience to our residents.
Tips to Help Prevent Mosquito Breeding
• Discard old tires, buckets, drums or any water holding containers.
• Poke holes in tires used as swings or bumpers on docks.
• Keep roof gutters and downspouts clear of debris.
• Keep trash containers covered.
• Empty plastic wading pools at least once a week and store indoors when not in use.
• Drain unused swimming pools.
• Fill in tree rot holes and hollow stumps that hold water.
• Change the water in bird baths and plant urns at least once a week.
• Store boats upside down or drain rainwater weekly.
•County residents may report areas of stagnant water (conducive for mosquito breeding) as well as locations of dead birds, or learn more about the signs and symptoms of West Nile encephalitis by calling the West Nile hotline number: (847) 377-8300.
Referendum for Single Waste Hauler For Unincorporated Fremont Township Residents
At our July board meeting, the Fremont Board of Trustees voted to place a question on the November Ballot to allow the board to contract with a single waste hauler in unincorporated Fremont Township. If passed, this would apply only to residential areas.

The ballot question presented to voters would read as follows:

Shall the Township Board of Fremont Township, Lake County Illinois,                               
be authorized to exercise the powers of the “Township Refuse Collection 
and Disposal Act” as provided in Article 210 of the Township Code, 60 
ILCS 1/210-5,  et. seq ., to enter into a contract for the collection, disposal,                            
composting or recycling of garbage, refuse and ashes within the 
unincorporated area of the Township?

Farmers Market
The Mundelein Farmers Market will be held on Tuesdays, June 12 through October 16, in the Santa Maria del Popolo Church parking lot on Highway Route 45. From June 12th - September 18th the market will be open from 3:00PM - 7:00PM and from September 25th - October 16th it will be open from 3:00PM - 6:00PM.

Free Hearing Screening and Otoscope Exam

Audibel Hearing Aid Center in Libertyville, a leader in “Better Hearing Health” is pleased to offer a Free Hearing Screening and Otoscope Exam Event on Tuesday, July 24 from 10:00 am til 2 pm at lower level of the Fremont Township Administrative Building.
