The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVO) through the Small Business Administration was established by the recently passed Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Non-profits, and Venues Act, and amended by the American Rescue Plan Act. The US Small Business Administration (SBA) has a total of $16 billion to distribute for this grant program.

The SBA is working on the application platform for the SVO grant program and anticipates opening applications on Thursday, April 8, 2021. In the meantime the SBA has created several tools and resources to help potential SVO grant applications prepare, including:

Eligible entities include live venue operators or promoters; live performing arts organization operators; and relevant museum operators, zoos and aquariums that meet specific criteria. The SBA will host a national informational webinar to highlight the application process for potential eligible entities. If you are an elgible entity, you will need to register for a DUNS number in the System for Award Management before applying for the grant.
