Sick??? 1/11/26
Philippians 2:25–30 (KJV 1900)
25Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
26For he longed after you all, and was full of heaviness, because that ye had heard that he had been sick.
27For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.
28I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful.
29Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation:
30Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.
2 Timothy 4:20 (KJV 1900)
20Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
“BUT Trophimus have I LEFT at Miletum SICK???????????????????????”
WHY???? Why did the “mighty” APOSTLE Paul LEAVE a beloved friend and co-worker SICK???
WHY did the Apostle Paul, an anointed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ not just pray the PRAYER of FAITH promised to us all to this very day:
James 5:15 (KJV 1900)
15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
The short answer......
I DON'T KNOW?????
Perhaps the correct answer is:
Isaiah 55:8–9 (KJV 1900)
8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts.
I truly do not understand the ways of God!! WHY some are marvelously healed and others not??? I “guess” that we all should marvel more than ANY are healed-PERIOD!!!
Beloved, EVERY day must be TREASURED and understood the the PRESENT is a GIFT of immense wealth!!!
As quoted from THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION:
"Get busy living or get busy dying" is a famous quote from the movie "The Shawshank Redemption," emphasizing the importance of making active choices in life rather than passively accepting circumstances. It suggests that one should strive to live fully and embrace opportunities instead of succumbing to despair.
Or, as Tim Mcgraw so famously crooned:
And he said, "Someday I hope you get the chance
To live like you were dyin'"
Most likely, the younger those of you reading this treatise today are, the less you will understand my words today....
As some wise sage once spoke- “YOUTH IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG!”
The young live with little fear of death and/or the value of their precious life!!!
What does the dog do if and when he “catches the proverbial car” that he chased all his life?????
Ecclesiastes 11:9–10 (KJV 1900)
9Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
10Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.
Please, PLEASE forgive me if I sound morbid-I AM NOT............. I AM THANKFUL!!
Ecclesiastes 7:2 (KJV 1900)
2It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
I am MUCH MORE than THANKFUL for being a Pastor these 50 plus years!!
I TOO OFTEN frequent the funeral homes and hospitals of the sick and dying!!
I am TOO OFTEN reminded of the fragility and shortness of THIS life!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I REJOICE every/EVERY morning to count heads of all that awake in my own, personal household!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERY/EVERY MORNING!!!!!
TODAY, if you live above ground-BE INCREDIBLY THANKFUL for:
“I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life!!!”
Rare Earth.
Solomon wrote these solemn Words:
Ecclesiastes 9:2 (KJV 1900)
2All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
TODAY, if YOU are sick, seek God's healing!!!
1 Peter 5:7–9 (KJV 1900)
7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
TODAY, just know “THAT THE SAME AFFLICTIONS ARE ACCOMPLISHED IN YOUR BRETHREN THAT ARE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR SICKNESS AND SUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“I JUST WANT TO CELEBRATE ANOTHER DAY OF LIVING!!!!”
AMEN!!!????
Wow!!! And the sun is actually SHINING today here in dreary Georgia!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU TODAY AND THIS YEAR!!!
Have YOU written your NEW YEAR PRAYER YET!!!!????
