This April, Side by Side's Community Counseling North Bay (CCNB) joined forces with United Parents and Caregivers and Parents for Wellness at the state capital for an impactful Advocacy Day.
Advocacy Day's purpose is to highlight and advocate for
SB 531, proposed by Senator Rubio, which aims to expand Mental Health Education in schools from 1st through 12th grade.
Here are a few Advocacy Day highlights:
Parents from Community Counseling North Bay (CCNB) attended the day, including Susana Fremault, Rosario Camacho, Susana Garcia, and Angel Camacho. Special shoutout to Susana Fremault, a former SBS staff member who worked as a Parent Advocate!
Together, everyone visited the offices of Assemblymembers Stephanie Nguyen and Michelle Rodriguez and met with their legislative staff, Moises Navarez (Nguyen's office) and Fernando Serratos (Rodriguez's office).
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important cause! 🌟
