The Siena Scribe

For the sake of His sorrowful passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Dear SCS Parents,

The 7th grade has officially taken leadership of our school. We celebrated a beautiful Leadership Mass where the 8th graders turned over leadership of the school, and the 7th grade presented the new spiritual theme for next year. "My youth will be the best shield for the Eucharist." - St. Tarcisius We look forward to continuing the Eucharistic revival next year as our students encourage each other to actively live their faith daily.

We have put together a video from Siena Day - enjoy! Siena Day 2023

Graduation Mass is next week on Thursday at 9:00. Please join us if you are able. We are excited to send our 8th graders out to set the world ablaze!

Our principal for the day did an amazing job and gave us all an out-of-uniform for tomorrow!

God Bless,

It's hard to believe it's the last guidance lesson of the year for Kindergarten and First Grade!  Kindergarten reflected on just how much they have grown this year. Students created a Ste-Grow-Saurus to show how much they have learned and set a goal for next year. First Graders made snap shots of their most fun memory, proudest moment, biggest challenge, and something they want to achieve in Second Grade.

It was so much fun to reflect on all the good memories we have made together and talk about what we have to look forward to in August!

Look how far our SCS students have come since their preschool graduation in 2014!

Daniel Haddock is this week's SCS Outstanding Citizen. Daniel is always reliable and always has his homework and classwork completed. His classmates can always depend on him when working on group assignments. He is honest and acknowledges any mistakes he makes and he is trusted by everyone.  Way to go Daniel!

Zara Akpan did a wonderful job presenting the new spiritual theme for the 2023/2024 school year: "My youth will be the best shield for the Eucharist." - St. Tarcisius

Prevent Summer learning loss with Summer Solutions! Just an hour a day of school work will help your child prevent summer learning loss and keep them in the habits of daily school work. Order the level books your child is in this year.

Our principal for the day, Mr. Benedict, did an amazing job today! He pulled the last fire alarm of the year, made announcements throughout the day, gave everyone candy, extra recess, out-of-uniform, and popsicles, helped with carpool and projects, and took great care of the school. You are hired!

Thank you for keeping your child home and allowing them to rest while they are sick. Please keep in mind the following symptoms and observe your child for them.

Symptoms of transmissible illnesses include:

  • Fever (100 degrees F) or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

If your child has more than one symptom of illness, is vomiting,  and/or fever present, one of the following criteria must be met before returning to school:

o  If there is no history of exposure to COVID-19, your child must be fever free (under 100 degrees) for 48hrs AND symptom-free before returning.  If vomiting is present, please allow 24 hours to pass without vomiting before returning to school.

OR

o  If COVID-19 is likely (possible exposure to COVID-19 or multiple symptoms present) we recommend testing for COVID-19 so we can make the best decision on when the student should return.

·        If COVID-19 test is positive, the Archdiocese requires that the student remain at home for 5 days from the start of their symptoms. If on the 6th day they have been fever free for 48 hours and their symptoms have greatly improved, they may return to school but must wear a mask until day 10 in order to avoid transmission to others.

*Please check with your child’s teacher for missed assignments.

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation. Feel free to reach out with questions at [email protected].

We love our preschoolers and their families and thank you all for entrusting your children to our love and care. Our marvelous staff of woman cherish their time with the children and teach them faith, friendship and academics.

Graduation and End of Year Parties were a celebration of our extraordinary preschool. As we look back on this 34th year, we call to mind all the blessings that have been bestowed on our Preschool and our families and offer our gratitude and love to our gracious Lord for walking with us, guiding us and protecting us.

If you would like to become part of the Preschool family and its legacy of love and learning, please contact the Preschool office at 770-590-0480 or [email protected]. We will have summer hours but will be returning all phone calls and email inquiries.
