For months, the IRA has been advocating for expanding indoor dining occupancy at Chicago restaurants to 50%, up from the current 25% level. The IRA is submitting a letter to Mayor Lightfoot to outline the urgent need for restaurants to be given the opportunity to serve more customers indoors with 50% occupancy.
We want to ensure that hundreds of impacted restaurants are included as signatories on the letter.
Chicago's restaurants are ready and well-equipped to serve more diners indoors in a safe and smart way. Without increased indoor occupancy, we will face the imminent closures of hundreds of restaurants throughout Chicago’s neighborhoods.
