1. Crucial Conversations for Leaders – Registration Spaces Available

Are you looking to learn tools for navigating high stake conversations and more? Sign up for Crucial Conversations*

This course is for those in formal leadership roles (e.g. has at least one direct report, or is a supervisor that supports the Manager with Human Resources/day-to-day business operations). 

Date: Tuesday April 30 & Tuesday May 7, 2024 from 9:00am – 4:00pm (West 5th Campus)

Registration is required and leaders must be available to attend the entire session on both days.

3. Introducing Perkopolis, new discounts program

Perkopolis, our revamped discounts program has officially launched to St. Joe’s as of February 27 and is available to all staff, learners, volunteers, and physicians. Perkopolis features over 5,000 discounts and services, and is available to access from anywhere.
 
What’s New
  • Full-Time, Part-Time and Casual staff can sign-up for Perkopolis using their @stjoes.ca email address to access over 5,000 discounts/services tailored to St. Joe’s.
  • Volunteers, Learners and Physicians (who do not have a St. Joe’s issued email) can request a unique one-time code to sign up for Perkopolis.
  • Discounts available for Shopping, Travel, Attractions, and Tickets (Musicals, Sports) including exclusive St. Joe’s discounts previously offered!
  • Perks can be accessed on the go by downloading the App.

4. Announcement: Manager, Public Affairs

It is with great pleasure that I announce Lauren Stasila has joined the St. Joe’s Public Affairs team as a manager effective March 25, 2024.

Lauren is a seasoned communications professional with more than 12 years of strategic communications experience in the public sector, in non-profit organizations and as a consultant.
She was a Communications Manager for the city of Vancouver, coordinating communications around high profile issues such as housing and homelessness. Most currently she worked as senior consultant for Ideaspace Consulting, working as strategic communications and engagement lead for clients such as the City of Toronto, Toronto Public Health and Halton Region.

Lauren believes in strong, collaborative relationships and teamwork, and brings a people-first approach to her work. She joins Public Affairs Manager Liz Harrington in leading the Public Affairs team.

5. Make the Move recruitment initiative

St. Joe’s is committed to recruiting skilled and compassionate healthcare workers who share our dedication to providing exceptional patient care and making a positive impact in the community. This week, in collaboration with Hamilton Health Sciences, St. Joe’s has launched the campaign "Make the Move" promoting our Hamilton healthcare community and inviting the move to work at our two academic health systems. Make the Move supports the St. Joe's Recruitment Strategy.
