LOOKING AHEAD

Day of Service - 11/4 at E2D

This year for Day of Service, we are partnering with E2D, a local non-profit committed to digital equity by providing at-need children and youth in Mecklenberg county with laptops for education. And the coolest fact, it was started by DCPC alumnae Franny Millen! You can learn more about E2D here.

On November 4 the church bus will depart from the congregation house at 8:45 to help deep clean the computer lab, and we will return at noon. Bring $5 for snacks in Charlotte. If you are interested in participating, you can register here on Realm. If you have any difficulty registering, please reach out to Matthew Zold ([email protected]) and Stephanie Malushizky ([email protected].)

Last Call for Pageant People!

This year's youth-led Christmas pageant is on Sunday, December 17th at 11:00 a.m. We are working to cast the pageant and need to hear from youth who want to be involved. We have parts for singers, actors, people who simply want to dress in costume, usher, dance... but we need to know. Please fill out this Google form by Sunday, October 29th so we can get the parts set and begin rehearsals.

YOUTH GROUP NOVEMBER 12

As you may know, we are foregoing participation with DUMC's Fall Retreat due to low registration. Because of this, we will have a relaxed, connect night for Youth Group on November 12. Any additional information to come shortly from your youth's small group leaders.

THIS SUNDAY

SCREEN & SCRIPTURE: SEASON 3

Our intergenerational Sunday School (9:45-10:45 am in the Youth Lounge), Screen & Scripture, is a place where middle and high school students, parents, and anyone else can come together to learn more about the Bible and visual storytelling. This year we're going to be taking a look at The Chosen, an ongoing TV series about the life of Jesus and the disciples. You can find out more here.

YOUTH MUSIC

Bring your instruments and make a joyful noise, because Youth Music continues this Sunday at 4:30 in the choir room! If interested, please reach out to David Brinson ([email protected]) or Sarah Allred ([email protected]

THE PARTY CONTINUES AT YOUTH GROUP

The party continues at youth group from 5:30-7:00 this Sunday! It is a connect week for Middle School and content week for High School.

GET CONNECTED

Want to Be a Deacon??

DCPC is looking for a student, grades 10-11. who is willing to serve for one year as a deacon. Deacons are the leaders who care for members: delivering food, organizing fellowship events, and working with our senior citizens. Being a deacon will take about 2 hours a month of your time. Contact Pastor Peter Henry- phenry@dcpcorg- if you are interested.

Sunday School Help Needed!

The Children's Ministry is looking for helping hands for children's Sunday School. They don't need teachers, just anyone who is interested in helping out from time to time. If you or your youth feel called to serve in the life of the Children's Ministry in this capacity, you can sign-up and help out here! You can also contact Jenny Alexander at [email protected].

D365

Looking for a great way to connect with God for a few minutes each day? D365 is an online devotional with scripture and reflection and during September they are focusing on the back to school season and how God prepares us to learn and grow. Click here to check it out.
