You are invited to participate in a focus group to share your feelings on the training you received to care for patients with disabilities.

The ADAPT (Achieving Disability Aptitude in Physical Therapy and other health professions) Project is a research project at The Ohio State University looking at the status of disability training for future health care providers.

Who can participate in a focus group?

  • Third year physical therapy (DPT) students 
  • Physical therapy residents 
  • Third year occupational therapy (OTD) students 
  • Third- or fourth-year medical (MD/DO) students 
  • Medical residents

What will be discussed in the focus group?

We will discuss disability-specific knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to competently care for patients with disabilities and how your training prepared you to do this. 

Where and when will the focus groups be held?

Focus groups will be held online for around 60 minutes using the Zoom meeting platform in October-November 2023.

Note: Your comments during the focus group will not be attributed to you in any reporting. Your participation will not affect any relationships with your training program or future positions. All focus group responses will be collected anonymously and we will not ask you about which University you attend or attended.
