A whole new way to summer camp
In case you haven't heard, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've had to cancel all sessions of Gales Creek Camp for 2020. It's a major bummer for everyone who looks forward to spending a week at GCC each year. We've ALL spent time being sad about this — and that's totally OK.

But Gales Creek Campers don't just sit around being bummed. We've been busy figuring out how to translate some of the best parts of your summer camp to a home experience. Connections, support, goofiness, and laughter are some of the elements of the camp magic we've focused on.

So we put together a FREE Camp-at-Home program that's age-appropriate for each of our camper sessions.

  • First, click here to register for this free program.
  • Second, closer to summer, you'll get a Camp-at-Home Kit, shipped directly to you from GCC-HQ. The kit will include your 2020 camp t-shirt (a unique shirt for a unique year), a printed Camp-at-Home Field Guide (put together by your very own camp counselors and directors), and some other surprises that will make your camp week as fun-packed as possible.
  • Then, we'll have live* and recorded virtual sessions hosted by your camp counselors and directors every day during your camp week. You'll join us starting the Sunday of your grade session, just like always.

*Live virtual sessions will be strategically scheduled and only last about an hour per day — because we don't want you on a computer all day! Also, in case you're wondering, campers are not actually required to participate in any virtual sessions. You can sign up just for the Kit ;-)

We know it's a tough time all around, and we know you need camp, so this program is totally free to ANYONE 18 and under with type 1 diabetes, whether you've been to camp or not.
If you've already made payments for camp this year

Please click here to let us know how you would like us to process any payments you've already made for 2020. You have three options:

  1. A credit to your account. You can use it for your camp fees in 2021.
  2. A full refund. This will be processed in the same form as your payment. If you paid by credit card, your card will be refunded. If you paid by check, a check will be issued to you.
  3. Or, if you are able, you can choose to donate whatever you've paid to Gales Creek Camp, which will help fund the Camp-at-Home program.

Are you able to help Gales Creek Camp make this happen?
Even though we can't have camp AT CAMP this year, we're still committed to our mission to support and connect kids and families who live with type 1 diabetes. We've got our creative engines humming with ideas to give our kiddos a great summer, despite the situation with COVID-19.

We're planning to send our campers a Camp-at-Home Kit and connect with them virtually during their camp week. It's the next best thing to camp!
