The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.

The program runs from July 5th to August 13th- this is 6 weeks!

For youth ages 14-15 years old: You will participate in a paid project-based learning experience that will provide enriching career exploration, emphasize work- readiness, help foster leadership and develop numerous skills. You will work 12.5 hours a week for the 6 weeks of program. You will be paid $700 TOTAL for the program. Payments will be made each week if the minimum amount of hours/work are met. Payments will be $100 for the first 4 weeks, then $150 for the final two weeks.

For youth ages 16-24: You will be assigned an internship/worksite and be able to work up to 25 hours each week for 6 weeks of program. You will be paid the NYS minimum wage of $15 per hour. You will be paid each week based on the number of hours they work.
