In Henri Nouwen’s book, A Spirituality of Fundraising , he states, “As a form of ministry, fundraising is as spiritual as giving a sermon, entering a time of prayer, visiting the sick, or feeding the hungry.” If you have any questions or would like to have a conversation about supporting CSMSG, please do not hesitate to reach out to Alexis Azar Posnanski at [email protected] or 314.721.1502, ext. 4044.
Did you know that we will celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin on August 15? It is the observance of the taking up of Mary at the end of her earthly life, of body and soul into heavenly glory. It is believed that Mary lived for 11 years after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, dying in 41 A.D. Legend has it that she died in her small house outside of Ephesus, surrounded by the disciples and apostles. Peter gave her Communion and she died after the ninth hour, the same time as our Lord.
THANK YOU!
We are blessed once again!  One of our parish families graciously donated funds for an enhancement to the Ellenwood Entrance. The bricks have been replaced with pavers matching the Page Garden and fresh landscaping has begun.

CSMSG will continue to be a beautiful and welcoming church home for many in the years to come – thanks to our many kind and generous parishioners!

THIS WEEK
Monday, August 12
MONDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: We are studying the Way of Love series, which will include podcasts from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. The Way of Love is a way of life. More than a program, it is a return to the ancient pathways and Rules of Life that followers of Jesus have observed for centuries. The deep roots of the Christian tradition offer a spiritual path toward a deeper relationship with God, neighbor, and self. For centuries, monastic communities have shaped their lives around rhythms and disciplines for following Jesus together. Such a pattern is known as a “rule of life.” When we commit to turn, learn, pray, worship, bless, go, and rest, we are engaging in and growing a rule of life. We will begin each Bible Study with a podcast from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, as he teaches us how we can use the Way of Love to train up our spirits, just like athletes train their bodies. Please join us for this nine-week series on Mondays from 9-9:45 AM (in the Armstrong Room)!

The General Thanksgiving, which is said at Morning and Evening Prayer, ends with “…and that we show forth thy praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up our selves to thy service, and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honor and glory, world without end.” The next Wonderful Wednesday series will explore how our worship impacts our daily life.
