City of Long Beach’s 16th Annual Bike and Pedestrian Count

It’s time to sign up for the City of Long Beach’s 16th Annual Bike and Pedestrian Count, one of the longest-running bike counts in the country! Every year, volunteers and City employees tally the number of bicyclists and pedestrians at key intersections across Long Beach. They observe the number of people traveling by bike or by foot and how individuals are using the roadway. Count data helps the City determine the effectiveness of infrastructure projects and provides planners and engineers with key information for designing new projects.

The more volunteers who join the effort, the more locations the City can analyze. Participants can choose from any of the following time slots:
  • Thursday, October 19 from 7:00am to 9:00am
  • Thursday, October 19 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Saturday, October 21 from 12:00pm and 2:00pm

If you are interested in volunteering for any or all of the three 2-hour time slots you can sign up here. If you would like more information about the count and see a map of the locations for the count visit here. Please help spread the news!
