More payors are moving to population health value-based care where the focus is on improving health and lowering overall risk. While this can present a number of challenges for acute care facilities, there is opportunity to build these programs that can drive revenue in those ambulatory settings. Providing care management billable services supports revenue growth in the clinic setting and additional pull through revenue into your outpatient service areas.
In 2024, the rules have expanded to include additional billable codes along with the ability for rural health clinics to provide more of these services with additional payments. The shift from volume to quality continues so it is important to find ways to build new streams of revenue to support sustainable growth for hospital providers.
