Have you navigated parental leave and the transition back to work?
The Faculty Parental Wellness Program needs your help!
As part of the Faculty Parental Wellness Program, expectant and new parents at MGB have the opportunity to be paired with an experienced parent who serves as a mentor, provides guidance, and offers practical strategies on navigating new parenthood, including parental leave and the transition back to work.
These experienced parents make up the Parental Wellness Advocate (PWA) roster, and we're recruiting faculty of any gender, especially those who have had children in the last 5 years. The time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours over an 18-month period. We pay PWAs $100/hr in recognition that your time is valuable.
We do our best to match pairs based on department/division, job description, special interests, and family composition. We suggest that pairs meet a total of 2-5 times starting from the expectant phase and through the first year of the child’s life. Meetings are currently occurring by Zoom or Teams, unless you wish to arrange otherwise.
We will provide a training, a meeting outline, and some talking points to drive the discussions.
