Announcing a *NEW* Faculty Parental Wellness Program for faculty at MGB!

We are looking for both expectant parent participants

and faculty mentors.

The Faculty Parental Wellness Program is designed to improve the personal well-being and professional productivity of expectant and new parents who are faculty across MGB. We welcome all family types and invite participants to join the program early in the expectant phase (pregnancy or adoption) through the first year of your child’s life.

We support individuals who meet the following criteria:

  2. Expectant parents or new parents with a child < 6 months

We welcome faculty of all genders and gender identities. You do not have to be a first-time parent - we welcome all!

Benefits to participants:

  • Parental Wellness Advocate (PWA) pairings: This is a 1:1 pairing with an experienced parent who provides guidance and practical strategies on navigating new parenthood, including parental leave and the transition back to work
  • Website with centralized lactation, parental leave, and parenting resources
  • Access to emergency lactation supply programs
  • Lactation and feeding stipends for first-time birth parents

Have you navigated parental leave and the transition back to work?

The Faculty Parental Wellness Program needs your help!

As part of the Faculty Parental Wellness Program, expectant and new parents at MGB have the opportunity to be paired with an experienced parent who serves as a mentor, provides guidance, and offers practical strategies on navigating new parenthood, including parental leave and the transition back to work.

These experienced parents make up the Parental Wellness Advocate (PWA) roster, and we're recruiting faculty of any gender, especially those who have had children in the last 5 years. The time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours over an 18-month period. We pay PWAs $100/hr in recognition that your time is valuable.

We do our best to match pairs based on department/division, job description, special interests, and family composition. We suggest that pairs meet a total of 2-5 times starting from the expectant phase and through the first year of the child’s life. Meetings are currently occurring by Zoom or Teams, unless you wish to arrange otherwise.

We will provide a training, a meeting outline, and some talking points to drive the discussions.

If you are interested in joining the Parental Wellness Advocate (PWA) roster or want to learn more, please complete this form:
