Send a Text and Get Signed up to Vote By Mail!
New County program expands opportunity to vote
There is no single act more important to our democracy than voting.

While some states are placing obstacles to voting, I am proud to say that Contra Costa County is exploring ways to expand voting and increase participation in our democracy.

Voting by mail can be a big part of this, by reducing lines on Election Day and making it more convenient for voters to cast their ballots early. Our Contra Costa County Elections Office has now linked text messaging with vote by mail by allowing residents to sign up for ballots by simply sending a text to the elections office.

All it takes is a single text to get enrolled in vote by mail!
Here's how it works: By texting "CoCoBallot" to 2Vote (28683), any voter will receive a reply link with a short form where they can enter their Name, Date of Birth and Address to sign up.

This texting function is available now!
Residents can also send an email to, call the elections office at 925-335-7800 or visit the office at 555 Escobar St. in Martinez.
