HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 24, 2018) – Washington County Department of Water Quality experienced significant amounts of water flow at several wastewater treatment plants last week during the flooding in South County. The County would like to highlight that during this time, no service provided by the County was disrupted, and all County water services continued as normal. The County also did not experience any abnormal discharge of raw sewage from any of its plants, which can sometimes become an issue when significant amounts of water flow are caused by excessive rainfall.
